Tweety is nailing Santorum for Bush's lies
re 9/11 and Iraq. Damn he replayed the tape and said it is dishonest to say that the administration did not link the two.

2. Mr. Matthews
is doing a wonderful job of rubbing Santorum's nose in the administration's lies about Iraq. I am glad that Mr. Matthews said it would be dishonest to say VP Cheney did not connect Iraq and 9/11.

6. Mr. Matthews
nails this "misadmistration" once in a purple moon but for the vast majority of the time he is their total shill.

His continuous shoving of Hillary down our throats is totally repulsive to e. Has he EVER addressed the dire consequences of election fraud? He's a handsomely well paid corporate apologist masquerading as a truth teller and seeker. He and so many others make me so ill that I barely turn on the tube anymore. If only they had more conscience and less concern for their fat pay checks we might at last and again, get some long lost, refreshing honesty in media.

Not picking on you at all. Just utterly exasperated with all the bull.

7. Respectfully disagree.
Mr. Matthews has opposed the administration's aggression in Iraq from the beginning. He has had some of the best coverage on the VP/OSP/WHIG's attempts to spread the war to Iran, well before any other tv program. And he has had the very best Plame scandal coverage of any media source, and was the first to call Ambassador Wilson to warn him about Rove's call.

11. Welp I stand corrected then
I refuse to subscribe to cable. . .just hear about it on the net.

But judging from what I see on his Sunday show he invariably salivates over Repuke talking points and IMHO it's totally gross.

I find it really annoying. If you see a more even handed thing happening then please enlighten me further.

12. No need for you to change your stance
Just because once in a while he points out some GOP faults does not make him evenhanded. He is an entertainer....he gives strokes to some and criticism to others in order to generate viewership and please his superiors. And for several years, he has been a media enabler for the RW.

Besides, throwing Bush under the bus is the RW talking point of the day. They'll have to do it in order to rehabilitate themselves. For Matthews to remain a potent tool, he needs to point out the obvious once in a while to keep credibility. Almost everyone will be jumping ship soon...the diehards will point out that the adminsitration did a bad public relations job but were basically right. The moderates will point out that they trusted this administration but one can't ignore the results. Many will end up saying that Bush is not a real conservative anyway and that electing a real conservative will get us out of this mess.

Besides, being evenhanded in these times of corruption, incompetence, treason, and corporate control is not justifiable. A real journalist would have to point out our government's disasters 24/7 in every policy area....

And this is the message that dems have to stick too...it is not just Iraq. It is not just Bush and Cheney. It is not just bad luck. IT IS SYSTEMATIC, ACROSS THE BOARD FAILURE THAT DEMANDS A SIGNIFICANT POLITICAL CHANGE TO ADDRESS.

14. Mistaking ignorance
for point of view may not be the way to win elections. Mr. Matthews is not taking the "RW talking point of the day" when he opposes the Bush/Cheney war in Iraq. Again, he has opposed it since day one -- something that is not found frequently in the washington democrats.

3. You'd think members of the republican party who screamed about
President Clinton's comment that he didn't have sex with that women would be furious over George's comments and how they linked 9-11 with the war in Iraq..

16. Well, yeah, if they had principles. But the former promised them power,

and the latter behavior on their part would see it removed.

5. Yes he can't be trusted
but it was good to see him doing what only blogs, MBs and Ray McGovern were doing ages ago -calling rethugs on their lies.

10. I had the weirdest dream about Chris Matthews last night...
I dreamt that he was killed in a car accident... I was actually quite sad about it (even though I agree with most here that he is a shill for the Bush Administration half the time) and woke up half expecting to read something about him in the news today. I also dreamt that my town was bombed - but I don't know by whom. I've got to stop taking Excederine PM when I'm stressed and can't sleep. :eyes:

chemical weapons because we found them."
