1. It's mind-boggling that Allen has any kind of lead at all
The guy is the most shameless, vapid, pandering sack of demagoguery this side of Jeb Bush.

11. America picks its leaders based on two critreia:
how loudly they proclaim their Christianity and whether you'd want to get drunk with them.

Could this be the elusive 6th seat we need in the Senate?

That may have been the straw that broke the camel's back.

Heck, if we can improve like this in TN, it would be really great.

6. Webb needs to capitalize on this with a laser sharp
focus on Allen's history of racism as well as the shady business dealings that are surfacing. The only way to take this bastard down is with unrelenting attacks on Allen's character. "Macaca" was the opening he needed.

7. Not only his racism is coming to light but his sick side too.
Wrote Death to Whites on his high school walls before they played a
black school and blamed it on "the blacks" .... he had to go on
the school P.A. and apologize

wacked a pool cue over the head of his sister's boyfriend

broke his brother's collar bone

gave the name "Bedford" as a middle name to a family member (son ?)
as in Nathan Bedford Forest the Confederate General and founder of the
KKK

took delight in vandalizing a neighbor's mail box.

13. The mailbox vandalism doesn't freak me out - but THIS does:
"Wrote Death to Whites on his high school walls before they played a
black school and blamed it on "the blacks" .... he had to go on
the school P.A. and apologize."

This is the same damn "WIN BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY" attitude that the Rethuglicons use to steal elections.

19. His son's first name is Forrest, named for
Gen. Nathan Forrest, early KKK Grand Wizard. (See pic of George Allen and son Forrest below all decked out in Confederate dress up clothes)

His daughters, by the way, are Tyler and Brooke, for the last Confederate general slain in battle (Tyler) and a Confederate Naval Commander (Brooke). A man named Walter Brooke was also instrumental in designing Allen's beloved stars and bars, so that connection may figure in also.

24. thank you
I had heard it once awhile back and I thought Nathan Bedford Forrest

<Nathan Bedford Forrest (July 13, 1821 – October 29, 1877), was a Confederate general and perhaps the American Civil War's most highly regarded cavalry and partisan ranger (guerrilla leader). Forrest is regarded by many military historians as the war's most innovative and successful general. His tactics of mobile warfare are still studied by modern soldiers.
After the war, Forrest's reputation suffered due to allegations of brutality in the Battle of Fort Pillow, as well as his role as a founder of the Ku Klux Klan.>

thanx again ..... I like DU we done gotz smart people here.

22. Allen has a habit of lying himself out of tricky situations.
Back in April Ryan Lizza wrote a long piece in The New Republic called "Pin Prick" exposing Allen's long history of racism. Allen agreed to be interviewed for the article, and Lizza came prepared. He confronted Allen with his high school graduation photo in which Allen has a Confederate flag pin on his lapel (this was in Southern California, two years before he moved to Virginia.) He also confronted him with the story of the racist graffiti he scrawled on the walls of his high school, a story Lizza had corroborated with information from five classmates and a school administrator. He also asked him why he had Confederate flag stickers on his car back then.

Allen out and out lied about the racist graffiti. Admitted to writing the graffiti, but denied it was racist. It was.

As for the pin. At first he said he needed to examine the photo. Then he admitted it was a Confederate flag pin, but that he couldn't remember why he had worn it. Chalked it up to "youthful rebellion."

As for the stickers on the car, he said he couldn't remember them, either. But he left himself some wiggle room saying they "could" have been there.

In addition to being a racist, a guy who abused his siblings for sport, and a person invoved in shady business dealings according to another post today, add congenital liar to Allen's description.

Rove 2.0

Dick Wadhams is the next Republican maestro of cutthroat campaigning. Can Democrats figure out how to stop him?

By Rebecca Sinderbrand

This spring, former combat Marine, one-time Reagan Navy secretary, and first-time candidate James Webb surprised political experts by entering the Democratic Senate primary in Virginia at the last minute--and winning. Three days later, Webb shocked Washington again by pulling within five points of the heavy-spending incumbent, Republican George Allen, despite a cash crunch that had kept Webb off the air for weeks. Legendary Virginia pundit Larry Sabato gave an ominous reading of the situation: The state's voters didn't yet know much about Webb, so the close numbers reflected "a judgment on George Allen." Damaging headlines loomed.

But a funny thing happened on the way to the front page. The poll results had barely gone public before Allen's chief campaign strategist, Dick Wadhams, went on the offensive. Sabato was a "biased" source, Wadhams sniffed to reporters from the Newport News, Va.-based Daily Press, and The Wall Street Journal poll carried out by establishment pollster John Zogby was "a joke." Moreover, said Wadhams, Zogby had "long ago been discredited."

A livid Zogby took the bait. "Frankly, I have never heard of Dick Wadhams and I may never hear from him again since he obviously is delusional," the pollster sputtered in a letter to the Virginia paper. "The race is close, and... Wadhams is obviously not up to the task."

Actually, thanks to Zogby's angry reaction, Wadhams had just earned his paycheck....

tough to question the patriotism of REAGAN'S Secretary of Navy. The only reason Allen is winning is his huge piles of money. Otherwise he'd be down as far as Santorum.

My normal crew (non internet)has not heard of the sister and her history of warmth from big brother Georgie. Everybody knows about Sidarth, we're in Virginia and DC but the sister stuff is the next shoe. Felix will pop off about her then every body will believe her.

Here you go, it's not a pretty picture.

Allen's A Bully: Just Read His Sister's Book

August 16, 2006
By: Phil Singer, DSCC

Virginia got a chance to see the real George Allen this week when he bullied a 20 year-old Webb volunteer on the campaign trail. But the fact that George Allen is a bully is no great secret: Anyone who reads his sister’s book and checks out the stories she tells would see that Allen has a long history of bullying. Here are excerpts from Jennifer Allen’s book, Fifth Quarter: The Scrimmage of a Football Coach's Daughter:

Explaining why she is scared of heights, Ms. Allen writes that “Ever since my brother George held me over the railing at Niagara Falls, I’ve had a fear of heights.” Felix has that Michael Jackson thing going.

Referring to George’s relationship with one of her boyfriends: “My brother George welcomed him by slamming a pool cue against his head.” Wow, bet she sayed home a lot.

Referring to George’s early leadership skills, Jennifer wrote: “We all obeyed George. If we didn't, we knew he would kill us. Once, when Bruce refused to go to bed, George hurled him through a sliding glass door. Another time, when Gregory refused to go to bed, George tackled him and broke his collarbone. Another time, when I refused to go to bed, George dragged me up the stairs by my hair.” Well if little brother makes a statement confirming this, Allen's looking at a TDO (temporary detention order, very hard to get in Virginia but this might do it).

Referring to George’s early career aspirations, Jennifer wrote “George hoped someday to become a dentist. George said he saw dentistry as a perfect profession - getting paid to make people suffer.” Wait, maybe Allen is MY dentist;)

Referring to George’s habit of terrorizing a Green Bay Packer fan in their neighborhood, Jennifer wrote that the fan’s mailbox often “lay smashed in the street, a casualty of my brothers' drive-by to school in the morning. George would swerve his Mach II Mustang while Gregory held a baseball bat out the window to clear the mailbox off its post. . . . Lately, the Packers fan had resorted to stapling a Kleenex box to the mailbox post to receive his mail. George's red Mustang screeched up beside us, the Packers fan's Kleenex mailbox speared on the antenna.”

-------------------

You know, it's bad enough that Allen got in on name recognition for a coach who refused to play the best passer and field general in the history of the game, Sonny Jurgensen (a passing God!). Now he turns out to be a violent, sadist. Should be in the cabinet, not the Senate. Virginians don't go for this garbage. Editorials all over the state, the race narrows, and now people will take a look at Webb. That will really nail Allen since Webb is smart, deep, amiable, and sincere...all the things George Felix Allen can never dream about. One thing he can do is make a direct apology to Sidarth, who has asked for one. Sweet! Webb will help with Warner too. Warner can be quite good when motivated (like when he opposed Ollie North's Senate bid on principal and made sure North lost...that was large!)

It's all good in the Old Dominion
