1. my response
Ah, I love the smell of desperation in the morning - it smells like - - - VICTORY.
Despite having both spineless houses of congress, despite having President Cheney in charge of foreign affairs, despite brain-dead religious wackos still believing George Bush each time he opens his mouth, and despite controlling the judiciary (at least the Johnnie and the Supremes) the GOP leadership record is pretty pathetic, if not dismal.
The best that they can do is to pick up the dregs of the democratic party - since even someone as misguided as Lieberman is still twice as smart as your typical GOP politician.

2. Here's what I sent Jack for the question on Lieberman
Question: What does it mean when Republicans are supporting Democrat Joe Lieberman in the Connecticut Senate race?

You've heard of GI Joe. In Connecticut we call Lieberman, GOP Joe.

Lieberman is just as much a chicken hawk -- got 6 or 7 deferrments from service in Vietnam -- as Bush, Cheney, and the neo con gaggle that have hijacked our government.

So Republicans supporting Lieberman means that we Lamont supporters were right about the junior senator -- he's George Bush's favorite ex-Democrat.
