Did bush* just want to say 'stay the course' one more time? Did he want to set up Iran for oncoming sanctions and/or bombings?

Did he want to weigh in on the Ramsey case? Just curious.

2. He wanted the Amurican people to know he's a serious man.
And that he takes no joy in what's happening in Iraq.

And then he went on to make fun of some reporter's suit like a 3 year old. SIKE!

7. Straining The Psyche:
Q But are you frustrated, sir?

THE PRESIDENT: Frustrated? Sometimes I'm frustrated. Rarely surprised. Sometimes I'm happy. This is -- but war is not a time of joy. These aren't joyous times. These are challenging times, and they're difficult times, and they're straining the psyche of our country. I understand that. You know, nobody likes to see innocent people die. Nobody wants to turn on their TV on a daily basis and see havoc wrought by terrorists. And our question is, do we have the capacity and the desire to spread peace by confronting these terrorists, and supporting those who want to live in liberty? That's the question. And my answer to that question is, we must. We owe it to future generations to do so.

15. What Bush's subconscious meant: I am being challenged. I'm
going through a difficult time. My psyche is straining to cope. "I UNDERSTAND THAT." I don't know if I have the desire for peace.

He is also challenging US, to confront HIM and his policies: "We owe it to future generations to do so."

3. Chimp speak...
I think the message I got, (after hearing repeated about 9 or 10 times), was that withdrawing from Iraq would send the region into utter chaos, because it isn't already. In short, regardless of what the country and most of the world are asking for, it's King George's decision to stay until the "mission" is completed. Then he puffed up his tissue paper muscles, and looked all frustrated.

5. There was no news
just his normal rhetoric, with a few juicy tidbits like Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and that Democrats are patriots.

Then, of course, there was the thing of completely misinforming himself, the press, and the American people. But you've come to expect that part.

16. Are we being set-up again??? With the polls polling against shrub?
Unless they know something is going to happen, it makes little political sense to go out and trumpet a war that YOU ARE LOSING.

To call a news conference to declare 'nothing' seems pointless.

P.S. Thanks to all for all your info on the news conference this morning!

19. I thought this was revealing
"Our commanders have got the flexibility necessary to change tactics on the ground, starting with Plan Baghdad. And that's when we moved troops from Mosul into Baghdad and replaced them with the Stryker Brigade, so we increase(d) troops during this time of instability."
