I think Smirky's insanity defense is being honed on purpose
I think Smirky's cracking up of late is very well orchestrated either by messing with his meds or just letting the public see what an absolute retard he is on his own.
And I think it is a plan.

1. It is very Rovian. Rove always plays chess with politics.... he is always three moves ahead of his opponents. WHen anything backfires (like Smirky appointing him a head of cleaning up and rebuilding after Katrina... anyone remember THAT?) he just makes another play.

2. When they have to "retire" the Smirk it will be because of exhaustion or something along those lines or something else that could make you go nutty, then turn into some sort of mental disease tht he's had all along... kinda like an angry Alzheimer's disease. Talking point... Aw poor W......
Presto! W is off the hook. Pardoned of his sin (again) he is now reborn and free to barbeque and clear brush til the End of Days, pardoned of any sins by Cheney. (see number 3)

3. Darth Cheney will then take over as pResident and this will be after the "elections".

4. Cheney will have to appoint all sorts of people, perhaps a new Defense Secretary. LIEberman, maybe? Joe will tie up all the Israel supporters and all those whose vote is tied to Israel. (senators as well) Or maybe just appoint Joe Vice pResident, a job he was denied after the 2000 fix. Being as he is a "Devoted Democrat" this will be hailed as a "bipartisan" appointment meant to "heal the country".

5. By this time, Iraq will be recognized as being in the midst of a civil war and of course, then and only then (after much wringing of hands)
will our troops be pulled out.

6. Also, by this time Iran will be fully seen as
a) conspiring against Israel
b) testing weaponds
c) taunting the world with its nuclear arms, false or true, it doesn't matter, they will find a way to deem it a nuclear threat and see a need to bomb and occupy.

7. The ensuing war will be seen as a necessary one on the frontlines of the War on Terror... Cheney's so well-spoken on the topic he may even get a few of our votes on this.
(memo to self: NEVER BELIEVE ANYTHING CHENEY SAYS!!)
Maybe they'll even catch a few Iranian terra-ists
in the US or Britain.

8. By the time the people get to impeach or the Hague arrests are made, Cheney will have another massive coronary (the stress was too much, he had the "stomach for the fight" , the snarl of rhetoric, but his heart just gives out at the opportune moment.) Talking point: Awwww... porr Cheney. he will forever be seen as Saint Cheney by the devoted Rwingers.

9) Whoever is in charge of the US at that point (Joe? Condi? Negroponte?)
will plead they were only following orders or trying to clean up all the mess that the predessors got us into.
"I WAS TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT THING!!!"Something where the blame is not all theirs. They will also claim "state secrets" and plead the fifth or whatever for a lighter sentence.

10. So this insanity thing might just be a totally intentional thing to play the chess game with.

What do you think?
It's okay if you disagree, this is just my paranoid depressive view on what's going down recently. I'm just trying to rationalize or find order in it somehow..
I know crazy doesn't HAVE to make sense.
If you have another view, please post it.

PS Maybe they will be just appoint LIEberman to the Supreme Court for its very next opening... maybe that's why he is all cheery with Cheney. Maybe that's what they promised him for all his repub, er "devoted Democrat" act.

7. the sticker is what got me into this
the news briefing today about the suit made me write it.

However, getting the message out there in a sticker would let them know that we know....

2. Schimpanski is clearly cracking up . . .
But I don't think Cheney would have any support from Congress (regardless of which party has the majority in either house) to go adventuring. He'd be a caretaker, and a not-especially-trusted one at that.

Will giving him command of the nuclear football would certainly keep me up nights, I do think he'd be completely tied down. Unless, of course, he's completely crackers and went off and nuked somewhere on his own hook.

But that could NEVER happen.

3. You've really given this a lot of thought, haven't you?
I always figured blivet would claim diminished capacity or something along those lines at his trial.

4. If this is the case, it's being done without Smirky's knowledge.
He is too arrogant and self centered to allow himself to be portrayed as mentally unstable, or worse. This might be part of some grand plan, but I believe if that is the case, Bush will not go down without a fight. And that would be worth watching!

6. I think they could medicate him out of it.
You know.. put him in a medical coma; say he had a stroke to the public and then wake him up slowly once he is removed.
Again... Aw... poor Chimpy. The believing public and the MSM would go for it and we'd have 24/7 news about it, wiping anything Cheney was actually doing completely from the news cycle for awhile.

AND WHERE'S PICKLES ANYWAY?
I saw a tabloid purporting they have a divorce settlement ...?!!!

It would be necessary to get tht woman out of the WH and away from the Chimp while all this progresses.

Like I said... chess game.. checkmate.

8. Agreed. He would never admit he is nuts. They would have to find another
way to get him to retire. I'm not sure what kind of arm twisting could go on behind the scenes that he would finally give-in to, but being nuts is not an option.

5. I agree with a lot of this
Rove really is a mastermind. Why can't they see through it? And why couldn't Fitz have taken care of him?

10. RE: your scenario
Why wouldn't the DickTator appoint Joe as his VP? Go for the "Unity" (unitary?) government and run together in 2008. If you're going to make the play, make it big. Neither one seems to owe any allegiance with what used to be recognized as one of our traditional political parties.

And * gets a get-out-of-jail-free card. He didn't finish his commitment to the AFNG, didn't finish out his term as TX Gov, why should he change his MO now?

In a lot of ways it makes sense. Only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the noon day sun. * has cleared too much brush at the ranch in August to be playing with a full deck.
