Terrorists: Please Ring the Call Button

Delta Airline shuttle passengers on a flight out of Washington, D.C., this morning were asked to turn themselves in if they had violated new security measures.

"Would anyone who has improperly brought a liquid or beverage on board kindly ring the call button and identify yourself," a flight attendant announced.

No one did, according to passengers on the flight.

4. Seriously? That made me LOL.

I am flying later this week and I always bring everything carry-on; short trip to LA and don't need much. I hate waiting for my bags and also waiting in line to check them in.
So I better make sure I take all liquids out of my bag, eh? Gels, too? Jeez.

My brother and sister-in-law are flying to Berlin this week and coming back through London, flying 2 different airlines, and they tell me that figuring out the different restrictions at the different airports and airlines is ridiculous. Shouldn't there just be one standard?

7. I flew American yesterday and they forgot to check my

identification while I was checking bags at the counter. I turned back after we were finished and handed them my driver's license. The clerk said - "Didn't we check your id?" and made a joke out of their mistake.

Then, when I went through security the person who checked my boarding pass and id spoke only Spanish to me - I didn't understand a word. I have no idea what she said. I was on a domestic flight.

At the gate (after bag screening) people were buying drinks and placing in their carryon luggage. Some gate people allow folks to carry on drinks, bottled beverages and yogurt (in full view) and some don't. It is not different from airline to airline, or from airport to airport - it is different from gate to gate. I have been on 7 flights since August 10th - all different as far as security goes.

Another quirk - at some airports you can lock your checked luggage - at others you can't. The bigger the airport the greater the chance you can lock your luggage.
