Poll question: Suppose a Democratic president had invaded Iraq using the WMD lie?
Do you think 50% of Americans would three and a half years later still falsely believe that Iraq had WMDs?

14. Impeachment or forced resignation. But of course,
had it been a Dem president, they wouldn't have waited for a lie about something as significant as going to war over bogus WMDs. They'd have introduced articles of impeachment the day after the inauguration because he misspoke a word in his inaugural address.

Meantime, the repukes consider this guy a serious contender in 08. We are truly living in a fucked up country.

The lies would've been busted wide open from the start so the Repugs could have a BBQ.

5. Republicans would say we didn't go far enough
Any wimp can fix statements around policy and invade Iraq, only real American leaders like the GOP will also invade Iran and Syria at the same time.

6. A Dem president would have been assassinated by now.
And I'm not even joking. These freaks would put a bullet in the head of a Democratic president that did something like this.

9. Clinton was Impeached.
Because he refused to reign war down on Saddam/Iraq. Letter from PNAC making such request (1998):

Given the magnitude of the threat, the current policy, which depends for its success upon the steadfastness of our coalition partners and upon the cooperation of Saddam Hussein, is dangerously inadequate. The only acceptable strategy is one that eliminates the possibility that Iraq will be able to use or threaten to use weapons of mass destruction. In the near term, this means a willingness to undertake military action as diplomacy is clearly failing. In the long term, it means removing Saddam Hussein and his regime from power. That now needs to become the aim of American foreign policy.

A dry-drunk President on Ritalin and mood enhancers will do what he's told.

16. That's why "Operation Northwoods" has such relevancy here...
N E W Y O R K, May 1, 2001 In the early 1960s, America's top military leaders reportedly drafted plans to kill innocent people and commit acts of terrorism in U.S. cities to create public support for a war against Cuba.

Code named Operation Northwoods, the plans reportedly included the possible assassination of Cuban émigrés, sinking boats of Cuban refugees on the high seas, hijacking planes, blowing up a U.S. ship, and even orchestrating violent terrorism in U.S. cities.

The plans were developed as ways to trick the American public and the international community into supporting a war to oust Cuba's then new leader, communist Fidel Castro.

12. Check you history ...
Clinton tried to do something about Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein ... and the Repukes said "You're trying to distract the US from the really important stuff ... impeachment over a stain on a blue dress!"

Why aren't the Dems out front and center setting this record straight?
That is what we need to find out. Have they been told not too? Did the anthrax work?

13. The media wouldn't have given the Democrat a moments peace
Every network news broadcast would lead with the story and every cheesy pseudo news/entertainment show would sensationalize it.

After all, that would be NEWS. :eyes:

18. Remember the Iranian hostage crisis...?
Each evening the news would open with "Day xyz: America Held Hostage!" And this went on for 444 days! If the Corporate Media today would open its evening news broadcast with something like "Day xyz: Bush's Big Lie!" or "Day xyz: No Weapons of Mass Destruction Found!" there would be much more support for his impeachment and removal from office!

19. I made that very reference a couple of weeks ago!
I was pointing out how politically slanted the media was in a conversation.

Imagine if they hadn't influenced the minds of Americans the way they did back then. Would Carter have served a second term? We may never have had Reagan or Bush I, and the world would be a better place for the policies that Carter would have instilled.

If Clinton had gone to full on war with Iraq as the PNAC asked him to in their correspondence, the neocons would have rallied the christian right to his side over the war and backed off Monica-gate.

take the reigns of government - I mean Joe Liberman (R) of course.

I've always wondered if Al knew how really Republican ol Joe is.
