Bush state categoically we will stay in Iraq
President Bush, in a press coference happening now has just stated:

"As long as I am President we are not leaving Iraq."

God help us all.

3. Probably the only true thing he's ever said WRT Iraq
Edited on Mon Aug-21-06 09:32 AM by kenny blankenship
Iraq is what his Presidency (both terms) is all about. It may be Somalia writ large but he'd sooner leave the White House than Iraq. God told him to invade Iraq. And more importantly, Cheney told him to invade Iraq. Iraq is the center of the American Empire.

7. Well, why not?
Why try to clean up this mess when you've got two years left on your term? Let the next president fix it! :sarcasm:

8. Iraq is the center of his Empire, our empire.
We're building an "embassy" there the size of the Vatican City, and four permanent military bases the size of principalities or stateside counties--the obvious intent behind these mammoth constructions is to stay "forever". You don't vacate the center of your empire unless your empire is dead and disintegrating. So that's what leaving Iraq means as a proposition to George W. Bush: the collapse of America in the world. It's unthinkable.
