People forget, there is a price to be paid if you want a Democracy

We cannot just write our opposition, or contribute our money to groups to voice our opposition, or put up a sign in our yard criticizing this Administration, or commiserate with our fellow Democratic Party/Progressive friends about the outrages and injustices visited on our country by this corrupt cabal in power .... we cannot be spectators and merely cheer for the "good guys" from the sidelines hoping that they win, we cannot accept unjust arguments and decisions which take away our rights without protesting, we cannot let uninformed voters go to the polls without knowing the truth of what is going on, we cannot agree to oppose these evil forces "later" when it is more convenient, ....

Our forefathers knew all about tyranny and corruption, and they sought to create a different form of government that would allow its people to live free under a system of laws, not hereditary rulers arising from the superwealthy. However, this free democratic government cannot stand unless the governed join together and protect the constitutional rights and government preserved and handed down to us.

There is power in numbers, both at the polls and in peaceful demonstrations. If we are to save what is left of our government we must mobilize our countrymen to show up in both places. We need to have poll watchers all over the next election, at every polling place, and we need to point out the practices that have the potential to rob us of our democracy. We also need to fight every effort to disenfranchise Democratic/Progressive voters.

This is a fight and money is a power tool. However, money is of no decisive import in a country where its people are dead set intent on preserving their own democracy.

Taking a page from the civil rights movement of the 1960s, we need to join up, come together and speak with one voice that cannot be silenced or overlooked. Another million man march on Washington DC could not be covered up by the MSM, or go unheard.

Will we let our democracy slip from the face of this earth, or will we answer the call and do what is necessary to save it? It will not be easy. It will definitely not be cost free. But if we take up the mantel of what made this country the greatest democracy on earth, it will be worth it many times over. The answer begins with each one of us.

You mean I have to get off my ass? Leave my couch? Stop driving? Stop shopping? Pull my investments? Pay off my credit cards? Stop giving my money to people who lie to me? Speak my mind publicly? You want me to stop thinking that if we could just get a Democrat into the president's throne that everything will be OK?

3. "People Vote With Their Feet" seems to be true enough ....

....if it is not important enough for people to show up in person to vote, protest, and be heard, all of which require the use of their feet, then losing what we have is just not important enough to them yet.

Vietnam War Protestors, knew they were making a difference when they opposed the war by marches, sitins, protests, and they paid the price which yielded an end to the war. The same with civil rights marchers, and those who insisted on the right to vote for women.

People today must care just as much and be just as committed to opposing this corrupt cabal to make a difference.

what is being done to them. Or what has been done to them. The scam that is the Federal Reserve. The lies that involved them in every war. Operation Paperclip. Operation Northwoods. MKULTRA. Garden Plot. Patriot Act. CIA drug trafficking. Vigilant Guardian. Corporate control of media. Even if some are aware, it's overwhelming.

5. the american public is stupefied

they are drugged with so many unimportant things it isn't even funny.

no one likes to get dirty anymore. GOD FORBID you make someone UNCOMFORTABLE!!!!

they might whine and hiss all the way home to their built in wine transporter next to the teevee in the fridge and plop down to watch hogan knows best on VH1 for 12 hours.

6. You Are Right, It Has Not Hit Home Yet What Has Already Happened

It should turn your stomach watching what is put out there for public consumption as "news." Celebrity gossip is not news. Neither is the latest styles.

Until people take an interest in what is driving their government and its leaders, and how it directly affects them in every aspect of their life, apathetic sleeplike state will continue.

Although it is not the most important, the rise in gas prices started to get through to some of those sleeping citizens. However, they do not see any connection to the rest of their lives.

I fear it will take a major catastrophe to shake the majority to take action, and by then it may be too late.
