A Conservative View: "Ned Lamont's Victory Is Democrats' Loss"
You read it first in Human Events ("A National Conservative Weekly"). Yup. It's fascinating to me how concerned David Keene is for the welfare of the Democratic Party. As an independent, it makes my eyes tear up and my heart throb at the generosity and concern shown by this compassionate conservative. Strangely enough, he sounds a LOT like the devotees and supporters of the Democratic Leadership Conference to me. But what do I know?

Ned Lamont's Victory Is Democrats' Loss

by David Keene
Posted Aug 21, 2006

Reasonable Democrats, including the few who remain here in Washington, have to be afraid right now — very afraid. (Terror, terror, terror!!)

Ned Lamont’s thrashing of incumbent Sen. Joe Lieberman in the Connecticut primary signals the beginning of a left-wing jihad within the confines of the Democratic Party that could doom the aspirations of any but the most left-wing Democrats in the years ahead.

Wealthy but Crazed

The Lamont victory over a former vice presidential candidate of the party means one thing and one thing only. The wealthy but crazed inhabitants of the left-wing fever swamps are taking over a party that has been trying to re-identify with the voters who allowed it to dominate American politics for most of the last century. The purge that began with the McGovernite seizure of the party in the early seventies has been reinvigorated.

Ned Lamont is a nobody with money who became the tool of the MoveOn.org crowd and has managed to demonstrate to the world that there is no room in the Democratic Party for candidates or office holders who disagree with the far left belief that our country is the source of all evil in the world.

Joe Lieberman may follow through on his threat to run as an independent, but if he does, the Lamont victory means very few of his former Democratic friends will rush to his aid. They know now that bucking the crazies in their ranks can mean the end of their careers and few will risk that.

The boys and girls who lionized Che, Mao and Fidel in the 60s and 70s have grown up and are now championing suicide bombers and telling us that the rulers of nations like Iran and North Korea are really just misunderstood. Their own country appalls them and they are convinced that if it weren’t for the United States, the world would be a far safer and more pleasant place.

<snip>

Lamont’s victory was a triumph for the left and a defeat for the United States because it may mean that future elections will be run between candidates of a pro-U.S. party and nominees of an anti-U.S. party.

Wow! :wow:

Imagine that! Ned Lamont has single-handedly defeated the entire United States!!

That there are millions of imbeciles in this country - some even on DU - who swallow even a part of this crap is proof positive that Kool Aid cripples even the slightest rational thought process.

1. This seems to me another act of desperation...
They were so sure that Lieberman was not going to lose....(Because we know they plan so well:sarcasm: ) that when he did lose....it meant that they were losing their grip....

These right wing neocon nuts are the real danger to this country.....

9. Not just a "danger to this country"
... this kind of delusional "true believer" is a danger to the world. In Mr. Keene's mind, "America" is only the true believers. In saying that opposition to the war crimes of the current regime and to a Senator covering for those war crimes is "anti-American," he's casting more than half of the entire country as not "American." It staggers the imagination that some minority of manipulative elitists/facists can actually find a gullible audience for such innately self-contradictory garbage.

anyone writing something like that *still supports GW Bush*. We've reached the point where the only people left to argue with are fascists, religious zealots, and pure idiots.

11. They have no desire to "lead" (imho).
Even worse, they have no desire to serve the people - this nation. These people desire to command, kill those whom they cannot exploit, and destroy that which they cannot possess. They love nothing but money and respect nothing but power. They sneer at "bleeding hearts" because they cannot comprehend empathy - and compassion is merely a slogan. Their appetites are insatiable. These are sick people.

12. Here's my take on this LIEberman Puppetry
Here's my latest work all about Joe LIEberman's ridiculous run as a "Party of One", which reminds me of "Army of One" (which gives ME a mental image of a guy stuck under fire in a foxhole, looking around and saying, "WHERE the hell IS EVERYBODY!!") :) -- Makes about as much sense in a marketing vein. Party of One, Translates into "Party of NONE" when it involved LIEberman, might as well be saying, "Party of ME", eh?

This flash also incorporates the fact that the Terror Lockdown on Liquids, etc came so close on the heels of Joe's Smackdown by Lamont as to not be considered credible - even today they are confirming that people will walk FREE because they don't have the evidence to hold them, let alone that there were NO Explosives in their possession, they hadn't even made reservations, etc, etc..

Meanwhile they talk about charging a PREGNANT woman for having some water, and a face wipe - this flash addresses those concerns as well, the fact that WE are being used as PUPPETS in a The Politics of Terror.

Remember, a republican said they'd ride this last nonThreat all the way into November. Let's prove them wrong.. Let's VOTE for Lamont, as we all know this last Primary was a referendum on Bush and his faked "war". The Nerve of LIEberman to shit all over the Democrats. It's like using a girlfriend to get you through medical school and then snatching up the Trophy Wife once you've graduated. How can we ever trust this Puppet again?

One of my best Flash works ever, and to the Tune of "Masters of War" by Mr Bob Dylan, and no truer words were spoken in our time.

13. I thought that all the "Vietnam protesters" were the offspring of
the well-to-do that had way too much time on their hands while at college ... you know, the elites who could get out of the draft because of their connections ... you know, the wealthy privileged ... and weren't the Republicans the ones who really opposed going into Vietnam in the first place? That would make the "anti-war" crowd ... Republican ...
