Iraq, cancer, and depleted uranium munitions

According to the Ministry of Health, about 52 percent of all cancer patients in Iraq are children under 5. Some 6,000 new cancer cases are reported every year. Health officials blame some of the cancer increase on the depleted uranium used in bombs during the war.

Iraq is poisoned. And now Lebanon is poisoned. The American soldiers with the good fortune to return home will have been poisoned. They in turn will poison their families...

6. makes me wonder if the mal-administration is trying to hold down
the number of soldiers exposed to DU, they're already screwed so sent 'em back. geeeeze

9. Democrats must address this. Clinton used DU and Clark doesn't think
it's an issue?

I like Clinton/Clark but I really think we must make our party accountable when it comes to this issue.

Exposure to radioactivity has been associated in some studies with birth defects in the children of exposed parents.

"My husband went to Iraq to fight for his country," Janice Matthew said. "I feel the Army should take responsibility for what's happened."

The couple first learned of the baby's missing fingers during a routine sonogram of the fetus last April at Lenox Hill Hospital."
