MSNBC's live feed of LAX: "He'll land here in just NINE HOURS!"
They have a fucking "Ramsey Cam" set up at L.A. International Airport and they keep cutting to shots of the EMPTY RUNWAY with pronouncements like "And THIS is where he will LAND in just NINE HOURS..."

Next they'll be telling us when he should be pooping out that champagne, pate and shrimp.

:grr:

Hey, you LAUGHED at Stephen Colbert's Washington Correspondents Dinner performance...but at the time, who among us knew JUST HOW FUNNY IT WAS?

:silly:

...MEANWHILE...

20 killed, 300 wounded in Baghdad massacre

I'll leave my teevee on for the next nine hours, watching that runway at LAX with bated breath. It will be SO exciting when that plane lands! It'll look like... er... an airplane ... landing on a runway. We MUST see that. It's by far the biggest story of the day; nothing else is happening that could possibly be more important than this.

Jeezuz on a pogo stick!

Could these fuckwits possibly make bigger fools of themselves?

6. Almost immediately after showing the shot of the runway...
...MSNBC showed a clip of McCain this morning on Meet The Press. He was asked if we are winning the war in Iraq. He replied "I don't think so, but I don't think it's a civil war either."

So it seems the MSM cannot show you pictures of dead and/or suffering Iraqis without reminding you that we are not stuck in the middle of a civil war.

Even if that's a lie. They need to remind you anyway.

:grr:

27. McCain/Charles Keating, Keating Five, Fraud
McCain is hardly a guy who's word I'd take for anything.

And a man who won't defend his wife and child, he is good for nothing.

28. That's been my point all along on McCain...
...someday his adopted Bangladeshi daughter is going to read about Karl Rove swaying deep-south voters with sordid tales of his "illegitimate black child" in 2000, and McCain's assertion that "I put the attacks behind me. The attacks that were made on me are long ago and far away, and I don't ever think about them or dwell on them."

On that day, maybe she'll be proud of her dad. Maybe she won't.

3. turn it off and disconnect the cable....
Write a letter to the cable news companies telling them that a 24 hour tabloid isn't worth 50 bucks a month or whatever. The only way you can change them is by denying them viewership. As long as their current formula works-- as long as it provides them with a resource to sell their advertisers, and that's all that cable subscribers are-- they have no incentive to provide real journalism. As long as Americans are willing to pay for infotainment rather than news, they'll be happy to sell it to you.

7. Ooh! Ooh! Maybe there will be a gear unsafe light in the cockpit,
and the plane will have to fly around for awhile while they check the gear, and after a bit will make a completely uneventful but nevertheless fascinating landing on the runway that MSNBC has been fixating on, and they will score a cable news double whammy!

5. I don't blame the media as much as I blame the MARKET to whom ...
... they pander. Sadly, it includes DU. After all, they don't care that they're criticized for their coverage, as long as people WATCH.

We get the government we deserve. We get the media we deserve.

12. I hear ya...
...I turn these shows on...in all honesty...because I naively hope that I'll catch a few minutes of "real" news that won't sound like it was supplied by Karl Rove via fax or won't be an Aruba Teen Update.

When MSNBC pulled Dan Abrams back in front of the camera for ongoing JonBenet updates, I knew we were screwed.

8. Stupidity comes in many forms. A lot of people watch this because
the news from everywhere else is so bad. But just because it is bad news does not mean ignoring will make things better.

watch cable news anymore, it's full of stupid shit like that without giving any real, substantial news that actually affects our lives and our country and our world. And even when it does bother to cover such news, it's so fucking biased as to be laughable and pathetic. Witness the recent cable "coverage" of the latest ME fiasco; it was all so biased in favor of Israel that it was damn near sickening to watch and listen to.

Cable news, especially CNN is a very far cry from what it used to be. It's really sad.

20. See my post #12 above...
Appearances of Dan "Media Ghoul" Abrams are kind of like Groundhog Day. When he appears from his hole and sees his shadow, we'll have 12 more weeks of 24-7 JonBenet "news."

He's a total frigging tool...easy to see why they decided he should be the one running the ship.

19. OMG, I just thought of something!
What if the wind shifts later today and they change landing runways at LAX? Will MSNBC be able to get the shot?

So, OK, I really couldn't believe MSNBC had gone to all alleged-JBR-killer-nutjob all the time, so I switched it on, and sure enough....

Then, watching it, I became so breathless with anticipation of Karr's arrival that I got the "vapors".

Shit, yes, they'd much rather bivouac at LAX than go to Iraq and actually do REAL reporting!

26. I can just picture
the rove focus group deciding which old news story to resurrect, the JonBenet murder or maybe the OJ Simpson case where the real killer shows up in a strip club in Tijuana. And yes Michael Jackson admits he's actually a space alien. It must have been a laugh riot. And people don't think kkkarl has a sense of humor. Ha!
