Rebuild Iraq. Hire Hezbollah!
An idea from Molly Ivins:

"In other news, we have the answer to a troubling part of the Middle East jigsaw puzzle: how to rebuild Iraq. We ought to drop Halliburton like a skilletful of rattlesnakes and get Hezbollah on the job. Did you ever see a better rebuilding bunch than this Hezbollah? The shooting hadn't even stopped yet when the "Army of God" was hustling around with plywood and duct tape, putting everything back together. And who do they get to pay for it all, but the Arabs. Now that's what I call rebuilding"

2. Yep.
They are giving up to $12,000 to people who completely lost their houses--part for furniture and part for a year's rent while the houses are rebuilt. Tenants get $8,000. The work has started. What better way to win the hearts and minds and keep them. Meanwhile, we are the ones with the corrupt and incompetent whose sole talent is feathering their own nests.

4. If they don't believe in the good old Merican corporate do-nothing
no-bid contract wasteland, then they must be terrrrists fer sure! The nerve of them, actually building and fixing things. This could give Halliburton and Bechtel really bad reps. :bounce:

mighty America still can't even provide as much electricity as Hussein did.

Hell, we can't even provide our troops with enough clean drinking water & armor.

And then there's New Orleans... or rather, there used to be.

5. Same thought here
Hezbollah in Iraq could happen. Had to wonder about NOLA, could that be why Katrina victims have been so scattered, so that no group(Hezbollah would be highly unlikely} could organize them?

National Post

<The money will rent a furnished apartment for the next few months while Hezbollah's construction company, Holy War for Construction, rebuilds his home.>

<He was carrying boxes of instant cereal, pasta and a first aid kit, all courtesy of Hezbollah>
<Its fighters have traded weapons for clipboards, surveying the damage up and down streets. They are clearing away the rubble, rebuilding bridges and repairing roads.
Wearing yellow hats, zipping around town on scooters and armed with satellite phones, they do everything from directing traffic at clogged bridges to collecting piles of rotting trash.>
