We need a little more Compassionate Liberalism

I look around me and see people who either have their heads in the sand, or up their butts. I see reactions to lies - over and over and over again. I see people who are shocked and awed by the changes taking place in this country.

One thing I don't see is change.

I live in a solidly (voted 2004 bush 75%) red area, but do what I can to not only "enlighten" people, but to have others see that Liberalism works - for all of us.

Be a Compassionate Liberal - and show others what that means.

2. not easy to do.....

but so worth the effort. I find myself getting very angry at the arrogance displayed by critiques of another person's character as in 'bat-shit crazy', for example. Taking a snapshot in time, and judging an entire life by that image. Everyone has an opinion, but it can be expressed with civility. In a society as sick as this one, there is no shortage of lessons in patience and tolerance.
