For my 1000th post
(I can't believe I'm so talkative)

I ask that everyone commit an act of peace today. Just today. Is that too much to ask?

Peace

3. Peace and blessings to you
The Calling
By Gerald Fisher

The fire is dancing tonight and the winds are talking
Dancers from past lives enter the circle
Leading me back and forth through the history of myself
The mind searches as the spirit dances

The drums...dancing to the heartbeat
Memories of long ago insights to the future
I hear the winds whispering my sweat lodge dreams
I see Sungmanitu tanka (the wolf) my guide

He shows me the ancestors, not mine
They are not Lakota, or Tsalagi, or Iroquois
But they are all Nations, one Nation
Speaking with wisdom to share with each other

Yesterdays create todays and promises of tomorrow
The lies will die with the smoke
And the whispers of the winds are clear and loud
And we shall all see the return of the buffalo
AHO

4. Aho Metaquiatsun
Thank you.

Did you know I was quoting a Dances of Universal Peace in my post? The first stanza of your gift to me indicated that you did.

Blessings

7. Do you do inipi?
I have gone to many a lodge, and helped build one. My husband is a pipe carrier in the Lakota tradition, but hasn't poured the water for a lodge yet. It is funny, but I know the sweatlodge songs when I'm inside, but rarely remember them elsewhere. It is a very special and sacred ceremony...but then all things are sacred.

5. I agree....
if everyone would ignore all the bad news in the media, and get to work on helping others....we would feel better about our world.
