Nine days later, and I have not heard about any charges laid on people. Nor have I heard about any explosives being found. Given the politicians' eagerness to tell us everything, I think we definitely would have heard if something was actually there.

This definitely looks in the same category as the ricin plot that never was and the Forest Gate raids for no purpose.

We keep hearing about how you can't win a war on terrorism, and how the only way terrorists will be defeated is by old-fashioned police work.

But apparently we can't get that right either. :eyes:

a "pattern" with the Bushies so we tend to express skepticism earlier... One of these days maybe they will break up a terrorist plot and announce it and it will turn out to be true. Maybe...

... I get the impression that these folks MIGHT have had a plot underway, in the early stages - but that Bush** convinced the British authorities to go ahead and bust them rather than watch them until they had solid evidence.

But hey, I've accepted that in this world at this time and on this subject, the "truth" is all but unknowable.

6. In the first place terrorists will never be defeated

As long as humans have been around there has been terror and there always will be terror. Police work will stop many terror plots from occurring. That is a given. They will never stop them all, that also is a given. Creating a war in a country made up of mostly Muslims based on Lies will never stop terrorism that is also a given but what it will do is create many more future terrorist and much much hatred for our people. Let the police do their work and worry about things that matter much much more like health care. The odds are much more likely that a person will be struck by lightning than killed by a terrorist but most people get sick during their lifetime or at least have a close family member get sick. Let's worry about important things and not let them distract us from that.
