I've been seeing the Government trying to sell folks flood insurance on
the t.v. lately. If they are hawking flood insurance to people, why won't they sell us health insurance? I guess some would say that insurance comps are refusing to sell flood insurance so that is why the gov't. is stepping in. Well, it is impossible for some folks to find or afford adequate health coverage. If the gov't. is already in the insurance business, it is an easy step to insure the millions that don't have coverage. Why don't we make it happen!

Im a small biz owner, and since i was in the hospital less than a year ago, i cant get health insurance. I would be willing to pay to be allowed to join the medicare program.

2. Yeah, Mrs. theophilus came up with the question and it struck me
as a very good one. If the Gov. can provide for the needs of the populace and "the market" ain't doing it.....more power to 'em, I say. We live in a land where the good of the corporation has superceded all else. It is sick and the resulting decline in our way of life is sad, imo.

cause all the environmental damage that results in, and then we taxpayers have to bail them out when their homes are demolished in a storm surge or hurricane. Ditto with building in floodplains on rivers and estuaries. No one should be allowed to build in such areas and if they are allowed to, they shouldn't have gov. insurance and FEMA money that WE TAXPAYERS have to pay out. If a private co. wants to insure homes in these dangerous areas, I don't agree the homes should be built there but at least my taxes won't be used to bail them out.

Anyone who lives in states where this is a problem should make this a campaign issue. Why the hell should we have to bail out the likes of Trent Lott who stupidly built his multi-million dollar home on the shore of the Gulf Coast right near the water? :puke:

6. I can't do a link, sorry. These are commercials. There is a web
address given that ends, I think, in .gov. If I see one again, I'll try to take down the address. You are right about the lunacy of this. It is not that these things....health care....can't be done right. They can be done right. We are just short sided and hateful, as a people....imho. Very sad. We could truly be that "shining city on a hill". We're turning into the bunghole of the world. Oh, well.
