Al Qaeda arrest could lead to bin Laden? hhmmmm
http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2006/08/new_clues_in_hu.html

Pakistani officials say the arrest of a top al Qaeda commander could provide clues to the whereabouts of hidden terror cells around the world and to his superiors, Ayman al Zawahiri and Osama bin Laden.

Pakistani police tell ABC News they arrested Matiur Rehman based on leads in the investigation of the foiled plot to blow up U.S.-bound airplanes from London.

U.S. law enforcement officials say they have been notified by their counterparts in Pakistan that Rehman is in custody. U.S. intelligence officials say they cannot confirm his arrest and remain skeptical of the reports.

Rehman is regarded as the connection between al Qaeda and a large network of Pakistani extremists in major cities around the world.

Well, it is an election year, and anything can happen with this crowd.

4. We want Osama caught
do we not? If they are closer to it, then good. He's been on the loose for almost 5 years since 9-11, and I would imagine people would question the timing no matter when he is caught.

13. I saw an interesting doc on Discovery Times channel,
I think it was, a few nights ago discussing Al Qaeda in Pakistan, and it appears that the Pakistanis are kicking our butts when it comes to catching terrorists over there. They've been far more successful than either the Americans or the British and are actually capturing real, honest-to-goodness Al Qaeda and not just wannabes. If they get Osama, more power to them. I just hope that ** doesn't try to take the credit for it like he did with the breaking up of the "liquid bomb" thing in the UK (although I'm sure he will). I believe that "plot" was busted by the Pakistanis, as well.
