Once again the life of a stem cell outweighs the lives of soldiers
Actually it's an old issue but yesterday I spoke with an old friend whose sixteen year old daughter became paralyzed three years ago. She cried as she told me how our son-of-a-bitch president (she's originally from Poland) has stopped stem-cell research once again that her daughter's doctors and therapists say could benefit her in recovering. I comforted her as best as I could, assured her that Bush was not mine or the majority of American's president and how shameful it is that it's more acceptable for this current administration to send thousands of actual living people to die in a war of choice than it is to help other living people have a better life for themselves or their loved ones when it comes to un-affordable health care or restrictions on research in the health care system. Maybe even help the unfortunate soldiers who have become paralyzed too. The thousands of wounded/handicapped soldiers doesn't get as much media attention as the number of deaths but that's also moving to the back of people's minds so to make room for, "What's happening on Desperate Housewives this week?"

1. You and your friend need to trust in the fact...
That history is going to be pretty brutal to our present mouthbreather-in-chief. He is set to live his retirement as a pariah.

A thin gruel of satisfaction, I know.

2. Yeah, but JonBenet and Natalee outrank pretty blonde stem cells.
The current WH and Congress's blatant disdain for the needs of Americans is disgraceful. $250 million for the war in Iraq. Not a sou for embryonic stem cell research. Where's their profit in curing illnesses?

3. What's even worse is....
...how this administration has also protected the insurance companies and have helped them gain massive profits by allowing them not to help us. We're not allowed to have free government health care and now we're not allowed to make the insurance companies pay for what we pay them for. The family mentioned above had to declare bankruptcy not long after the daughter's injury because of the things and therapies that the insurance company decided they didn't have to pay for. They're barely surviving now but with from help from their family, friends and their employers they're going to make it.

4. Well, at least the WH and Congress get THE BEST health care
absolutely FREE. And, I guess, that's all that matters to them.
