Anyone know what the new AAR schedule will look like?
Rachel announced she's moving to 6-8 PM starting September 1st. Where does that leave Sam? Is Randi losing an hour, or taking one from Al? What happens with the morning shows? (Especially since the only reason AAR kept Mark Riley employed was that their contract with WLIB required that he be one of the morning hosts?) And what about Springer and Malloy?

Anyone see an actual schedule yet?

1. Randi apparently gave up an hour
3 hours is the standard format in talk radio, and hers was the exception, but apparently she was tired of it. As of yesterday, Sam didn't know his fate, and wasn't sure he would by today. He's out on vacation next week one way or the other. Mike Malloy has signed for 2 years, so he's probably keeping his time slot. No word on Springer that I know of.

2. I like the idea of Rachel Maddow at dinnertime.
We always listen to AAR during that time.

I just want Sam Seder to have a place. He is so good. We don't listen to radio in the morning since we retired, so I never get to hear Rachel. I like her.

3. Here in red state hell
I listen to the podcasts. I always listen to Rachel's show in the morning when I run. I really like it, and will continue to listen, but I will miss having it first thing in the day. The other shows I listen to are the previous day's mp3 podcasts. Hopefully, there will be an equally good morning show. I liked hearing what was going on that day. She's a great morning-show host.

I really REALLY wish they'd get Stephanie Miller, and send Springer to some other timeslot.

4. I'll miss Rachel in the mornings, too
I was always at my work by 8:45 AM EST so I could start the day with Kent Jones snark!

5. I'd love to see Thom Hartman and Bernie Ward take some spots.
I love both those guys. I just hope they don't add somebody like Ed Schultz.
