What it will take to make America happy.
To make me happy, I want a President that is trustworthy.

I want a President who can speak properly.

I want a President who can carry himself with dignity, and respects the boundaries and rights of others.

I want a Congress that is trustworthy.

I want a Congress that does its job.

I want a Vice President who doesn't shoot people in the face.

I want a Secretary of State who has "buy new shoes while New Orleans is obliterated" at the bottom of their list of priorities.

I want a Secretary of Defense who knows what they're doing.

I want my civil liberties, rights, and privacy back.

I don't want to be spied on without a court warrant.

I don't want my tax dollars wasted overseas while people here in America are starving and dying on the streets.

I want affordable prescriptions.

I want affordable health insurance.

I want affordable gas.

I want to be treated equally, regardless of race, religion, sex, or sexual preference.

I want the separation of church and state restored.

I want corporate monopolies broken up (AT&T, for example.)

I want the outsourcing of American jobs to stop.

I want incentives for employers to create jobs here in America, and overseas tax breaks to stop.

I want laws that require the media to tell all sides of a story, not just the side that benefits their parent companies.

I want all elected officials held accountable for their campaign promises and actions while in office.

I want the lobbying industry done away with.

I want public funding of political campaigns, with all private funding forbidden.

I want transparent elections, mandatory audits, and a paper trail.

I want a law that forbids anyone who oversees the election process in a state from also serving as campaign managers, party officials, or anything else that could compromise their duty to ensure a fair and accurate election.

I want a law that forbids networks from calling elections until every precinct in every state has closed.

I want all Americans to pay a fair tax rate, with no loopholes for the wealthy, or perhaps go to a flat tax or some other format that would be less corruptible.

I want term limits set for elected officials, to do away with career politicians. We need new blood regularly, so that the "old way" doesn't become the "only way."

I want a President I can be proud of again, one who will restore America's image to the world, and ensure we aren't trying to be all things to all countries.

I want critical American facilities to be owned and operated by Americans.

I want incentives for Americans to buy American products, from American companies, to ensure growth and prosperity for all of us.

We should tax imports the way other countries tax imports. If a tax on American goods is good for them, a tax on their goods should be good for us as well, right?

I could probably go on for a long time, but I would also need a President who will clean up the mess George Bush and his cronies have created, perhaps by starting off with a declaration that everything Bush has done while in office needs to be investigated, and is subject to modification or repeal.

What is on everyone else's list of requirements to be happy?

1. Happy? Still working on trying to make America conscious
and energized. Happy is too often the parent of inert. Last thing we need now is more inert. ;)

saying we'd be happy if it weren't for high fuel and medical costs:

I realized it would take a lot more than that. I think he's set his expectations too low here.

4. Yeah, I read that one too.
My reply is the one about the Sec of Trea$ needing a monocle to see out his navel ;)

My reply to you was also directed at the junta, not your comments. You, I understood :hi:
