bush Threw a Hissy Fit This Morning Over the Wiretap Ruling....
I heard his hissy fit on NPR just now. I could hear him pound the podium about four times. The boy king does not like to be dissed....

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/bush

<snip>

CAMP DAVID, Md. - President Bush said those who agree with a federal judge that his warrantless surveillance program is unconstitutional "simply do not understand the nature of the world in which we live."

<Bangs on podium here>

"This country of ours is at war," the president said Friday. "And we must give those whose responsibility it is to protect the United States the tools necessary to protect this country in a time of war."

The day before, a federal judge in Michigan struck down the National Security Agency's warrantless wiretapping program, ruling it was an unconstitutional infringement on the right to privacy and free speech. Upon Bush's orders, the Justice Department appealed within hours.

"I strongly disagree with this decision. Strongly disagree," he said of the ruling by U.S. District Judge Anna Diggs Taylor in a case brought by the American Civil Liberties Union.

That's how he handles many things that are plainly un-constitutional.

152. He said what?
Just last month Gonzo testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee that we are not at war.

FEINSTEIN: Now, Congress did not leave the question opened. FISA explicitly says that warrantless surveillance can continue for only fifteen days after a declaration of war. Now that you’ve had an opportunity to examine Hamdan, is it still DOJ’s opinion that it does not affect the legality of the TSP?

GONZALES: Of course, there’s been no declaration of war here, so we can’t take advantage of that particular provision. Uh, our judgment is…is that, um, it does not affect the legality, uh, of…of the, uh TSP program. But let me explain why…

FEINSTEIN: Whoa. But if I might, just a (unintelligible). Then you’re saying, clearly, that the AUMF does not carry the full constitutional weight of a declaration of war.

GONZALES: Yes. That…that is correct. When you…when you declare war…well, when you declare war…

http://www.crooksandliars.com/posts/2006/07/18/feinstein-hammers-gonzales-on-fisa-nsa-and-the-declaration-of-war/#more-9051

No you stupid fuck, we are not at war! You and your fucked up SECDEF, VP and SoS are at war. The troops and the American people are just being dragged along for the shit-faced ride. Our troops and our people got into a fucking car with a fucking drunk ass mother fucker, and we'd like you to fucking pull over god dammit!

If you feel so strongly about this, then go to your fucking rubber-stamp Congress and get a Declaration of War. Go to your fucking rubber-stamp Congress and re-institute conscription so we all can enjoy the fucking ride. Go to your fucking rubber-stamp Congress and get them to change the FISA Law so you can fucking wire-tap whoever the hell you want, for whatever fucking reason you want.

I know you won't do it, because to do that you would have to have the guts to address the American people and convince them that your need to piss all over the Constitution trumps their right to have a Constitution.

I apologize to DU. I normally try to limit my use of colorful language, but this mis-administration brings out the worst in me.

after their Supreme Leader has so blatantly pissed on the Constitution, we might as well tear up that document and stop teaching our kids that our government is based on it.

I have a son in 5th grade and I know they are going to study American Government this year. My son's a bit of rebel (sings along to all the Steve Earle and Against Me! anti-Bush songs I play in the car, that kind of thing...) and I wonder if he will have the opportunity to write a paper about this or at least discuss it in class. Especially about how the Constitution is being treated by the current Administration.

I remember when my daughter was taught about the US Gov't. and it was so lame, they just give them the basics, and they do a report on a president. Most kids do Lincoln or Washington, if I recall. I should encourage Danny to do GWB and write about how he has trampled on the Constitution. That would be cool. :)

Bushie Judge #5 onto the Surpreme Court. Then all those blatantly unconsitutional signing statements will be made "legal" and it is all over. Bet on it: Alito, Scalia, Thomas and Roberts will rule in favor of an imperial presidency every time. One more SCOTUS judge and it's all over.

Never have Congressional elections been more important. Study the roll call vote on the Alito nomination cloture. (http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=109&session=2&vote=00001) You won't be surprised to see ALL the Republican senators voting for it. You won't be surprised to see the nominal "Democrats" like Lieberman voting for it. But be aware that Robert Byrd also voted for it. I find that evidence of profound hypocrisy in a man who carries on regularly about the scary threats to the Constitution posed by this administration. Actions speak louder than words. Would Byrd vote for another Alito, effectively ending democracy in this country? Why not - he's already done it once.

133. He lost his transmission for a second.
Watch the video and at around 1:42 he just runs flat out of words... I guess he lost track of what the voice in his ear was telling him to say.

"We... I made my position clear about this war on terror and I... by the way, the enemy made their position clear, yet again, when they... when we are able to stop them."

....Huh?????

What a dumbass.

I guess I'll be waiting abit, perhaps weeks, months, years.

c&p "This country of ours is at war," the president said Friday. "And we must give those whose responsibility it is to protect the United States the tools necessary to protect this country in a time of war."

142. Stupid Bush. WTF do you know about the law, anyway?
Too stupid to even get into law school. Too stupid to even know that when he's giving the sign of the hook 'em horns, he's really giving the sign of Satan.

You stupid POS. Who gives a rat's ass whether you disagree or not?

Treat that motherfuckin' POS the way he treats anybody who disagrees with him. It's not God you're talking to, you pervert. It's your own evil, twisted mind.

People gotta understand it's hard work being president! (No, people don't gotta understand. Quit and find another job, you superficial, delusional, narrow-minded, spoiled rich boy.)

149. "It's hard work being President"
You mean taking more vacations than any President in modern times and bumbling through everything else? I wouldn't exactly call that work. However he did lie, cheat and steal to get there so he has no right to whine about it.

Let me tell you bout hard work
Minimum wage with a baby on the way
Let me tell you bout hard work
Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away
Let me tell you bout hard work
Building a bed out of a cardboard box
Let me tell you bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
You don't know nothing bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work

153. ATTN: George "imaTool" Bush -- You are not the tool the US needs
The MAIN "tool" that will protect this country (and all we stand for) in this time of war is the FISA Court and all legal means of pursuing leads on suspected terrorists. Your method of wiretapping is more akin to using a shotgun filled with buckshot and saying, "kill them all and sort them out later" and the thing is, you're aiming at the American public looking for terrorists. I thought you said we went to war in Iraq so we wouldn't have to fight "them over here"...?

Even at the most generous interpretation of your problem solving skills, I would have to say to you, " Georgie boy, not every problem is a "nail" so not every problem can be solved with a hammer."

http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:YA1ge_r4IsDbTM:www.madlantern.com/clipart

Besides, we've seen how shaky you are with a hammer, so maybe you should leave the protection of the country in the hands of "WE The People" and the FISA Court and the Diplomatic Corps - if you have left any in place.

161. Check out this rant from
Edited on Sun Aug-20-06 02:23 PM by zidzi
a blogger(John from D.C.) on Americablog.com.. :patriot: :patriot:

"Will someone give george bush a God damn fucking civics lesson?"

"I've had it with this idiot."

"We've got the president of the fucking United States of America lecturing a US court of law that it's supposed to reach decisions NOT based on the rule of law, but on "the nature of the world we live in."

"You God damn stupid fuck."

"You have the nerve to claim Osama and the terrorists hate our democracy? They got nothing on you and your fellow "Republicans." Do you people even believe in freedom? Do you believe in the Bill of Rights? Do you believe in our Constitution? Do you fucking believe in anything other than your absolute power to do whatever the fuck you want like some two-bit communist dictator rather than the president of the greatest country on earth?"

"We live in a democracy, you incompetent ass - one that is quickly eroding because half the people of this country elected a moron to the presidency (twice) and now are so embarrassed by their vote that they refuse to stand up and demand an end to your idiotic reign of terror."

"These are judges you're demeaning. American jurists. The people in charge of our laws. And you speak of them like they're nothing more than crap. You and your party have contempt for our entire system of jurisprudence, the entire system of checks and balances our democracy is based on, because you can't get your way 100% of the time. Well boo-fucking-hoo. We are a country of laws, you stupid stupid man."

More rant..

162. it's amazing how some declare we're at war
and PRESTO we're at war!!! Instead of going after the culprits who actually did the deed, they have to kill every damn person who didn't do the deed and then allow those who allegedly responsible remain free. Afterall, * said he wasn't interested in getting OBL--OBL probably served his purpose. We have a PR creation that our "liberal" media pushed, as they pushed the war with Iraq-telling the American people that we're at war and we have a war president-don't want to change administrations while we're at war--but it's a war that they created-they invented!!!!! At least Clinton apprehended the culprits who bombed the WTC before and they were given a trial and sentenced--we got a cabal that's declaring wars on whole countries-what good is it accept to line their cofffers, as well, as their sleezy buddies'. IT IS SO SO SO SO ILLOGICAL!!!! And, most of the American people fell for it hook, line and sinker!!!!
