Antiwar llamas!
http://www.consortiumnews.com/2006/081206.html

One Israeli plan to use llamas to deliver supplies in the rugged terrain of south Lebanon turned into an embarrassment when the animals simply sat down.

Personally, I think using animals in any sort of military action is despicable, from strapping explosives to dolphins, testing them on pigs and blowtorching animals to simulate weapons burns to using them to sniff out mines. Animals didn't start the wars and it's not their responsibility to help anyone win one.

3. Using animals to deliver humanitarian aide is different from...
strapping a limpet mine to Flipper's head.

5. Better them than humans.

I think getting just about any number of animals killed is justifiable to save a human life.

How do we know that some animals might not object to risking their lives to save ours?

13. Of course.

Humans can think, animals can't. That makes humans special. Human intelligence is qualitatively, not just quantitavely different.

I am an unashamed human supremacist; to be otherwise is rank sentimentalism of the worst order.

7. How do you know they don't enjoy the excitement?
Okay, in the case of the Llamas, they sat down and refused to budge.

But some animals (like some people) are born thrill-seekers and risk-takers.

Maybe there are Llamas just itching for a chance to brave the hills and mountains to deliver Humanitarian Aide to the sick and wounded?

And after all the havoc that man has wrought, isn't it fitting that we should turn to The Animal Kingdom to help save us from the consequences our own folly?

Llama: "Okay, I'll deliver food and medicine this time, human... but please stop blowing-up one another."

Besides, the Llamas could be hit by a rocket at any time just by staying home, anyway. Or they could be hit by a car. Or attacked by the neighbor's Rottweiler.

How are you going to keep a Llama down on the farm after they've seen Beruit?

14. That's what I first thought of, too.
:D

Btw, llamas are smart, and they are very aware of danger all the time. They make great sheep herders, actually, because of that. I can't imagine a llama going into a dangerous situation easily at all. Good llama!
