I think we're already seeing it in some places, but we need to make this a nationwide effort.

1. It's "Republican" that really needs to get "llllliberaled"
People need to spit that word out with disgust.

2. Lakoff cautions that it took 30 years for the Radical RW...
...to demonize "liberal." Better to concentrate our efforts on "Republicon Party."

took about 5 years 1975-1980 Reagen did a quite the Hatchet job and the word has never really recovered.

4. Bush will be compared
to Jimmy Carter. Neither will be remembered as being good and effective presidental leaders. Both will be blamed for the demise of their party power structure.

Dems would do better to focus on selling their ideas and their ability to lead and solve problems than to demonize either Bush or the Repukes. Bush has demonstrated his own ineptitude. Repukes have fostered and encouraged it. Most people see that. What they do not see is a focused unifed Democratic vision.

6. No. Moderate Republicans (moderate anyone, actually)...
and certainly the far-right wingnuts cannot comprehend the hatred of Bush shared by so many in this country and around the world. Even though they dislike current Maladministration policies and are concerned about where the country is headed, they're protective of GWB. They do not believe all of the world's ills can be blamed on Smirk, and never will (unless the gas tanks run dry and the Social Security checks stop coming under his watch).

It took decades to perfect liberal-bashing, with the full support of Corporate Media. We need more than anti-Bush sentiment built up over 8 years (ugh) to capture what the country has witnessed since Reagan. Borrow and spend? Conservatism is so bad that it needs to be modified with "compassionate? Warmongers? Incompetent, greedy, and corrupt also come to mind.
