Residue blamed for Tri-State airport evacuation (Updated)
HUNTINGTON — Federal agents are still looking for answers about the suspicious substance in a woman’s carry-on bag that prompted the shut down and evacuation of Tri-State Airport Thursday.

Officials reopened the airport terminal Thursday night, under strong security, and hoped flights would return to a normal schedule today. The woman, whose luggage triggered the shutdown, was questioned by FBI agents, but never arrested.

Although there were no injuries or physical damage done, the midday news put the Huntington area in the national spotlight for a few hours and gave the Tri-State community a taste of the tension that has followed the terrorist concerns of recent weeks.

Last week, airports banned liquids, gels and aerosols from flight carry-ons after 21 people were arrested in an alleged plot to blow up U.S.-bound planes using explosives disguised as liquids.

Huh?
