No-- I am not talking about the obvious timing of stories/9/11 fear-mongering so ably discussed by K. Olbermann (and the myriad DUers here before hand)

It's more the general overwhelming desire to report on stories OTHER THAN Iraq/Lebanon/The Madness of King *

Unfortunately, the sharks aren't attacking, and the hurricanes have yet to arrive in force. So they trot out Liquid Terror, JonBenet before they get the facts/context/reality down.

At this point---they could find life on Venus (home movies of Venusians and all) and I wouldn't believe it. Why?

Because Iraq, Lebanon, and the Madness of King * should be the ONLY thing that they should be reporting about in depth. The ONLY thing.

So any journalists out there...unless you're focusing on those three issues (take your pick) 24-7, you are NOT doing your job and should be ashamed of yourself.

2. There is a lot more...
The real employment problem in this country... An Increase in Underemployment...

The creeping effect that high gas prices are having on consumers....

The disconnect between the COL increase released by the Department of Labor and well, the real world...

What happens when the housing bubble pop, at worst and stagnates at best...

What happens if the Mexican Oil Fields are really starting to dry up....

Etc.....

4. True-- I agree there is so much more-- I focused on those three
as they are connected by the same evil players in this country-- a small cabal that must be held accountable if this country is to survive.

Those issues you raised are quite important -- as are the Cuban oilfields, AIDS, and the privatization of key natural resources (i.e. Water) by multinationals.
