Tri State Airport Evacuated

Tri-State Airport in Wayne County has been evacuated. A perimeter has been set up, and evacuees are being asked to stand back 350 feet from the airport.

The Transportation Security Administration reports that a passenger's water bottle screened positive for an explosive material around 9:15 this morning. A second test was confirmed at 11:25. TSA is waiting for further testing to determine the exact substance.

NBC News reports that federal screeners found four containers of liquids inside a woman's carry-on bag during the screening process this morning. Larry Salyers, Tri-State Airport Director, tells WSAZ the woman is of Pakistani origin, lived in Jackson, Michigan and most recently lived in the Huntington area. She is being detained for questioning.

FBI officials are on scene.

At least one flight has been diverted to Yeager Airport in Charleston. Salyers says it is uncertain when the airport will resume operations.

I don't think Germany was going through an insane period..I think what happened there was the culmination of events prior to, and resulting in, Hitler's rise. Same in America. Going back just a decade, with what was allowed to happen to Clinton...impeached for sex...that America had fallen so low that a President could be attacked at the expense of the country for nothing more than sex...is a prime example that America's problems began before Bush. The GOP was setting up the environment then for what is happening today. Go back to Reagan and how he shaped discourse, thereby shaping how politics would go...directly influencing what is happening today

There is was an unconfirmed report from an FBI spokesperson that one of the bottles contained a 'gel-like facial cleanser'. There were two suspect containers and there has been no word yet on the contents of the other. There have been confirmed reports that the containers not only set off the mechanical 'sniffer' device that detects potential explosives, but was also confidentally confirmed by a bomb sniffing dog team.

I am sure in the end we will be able to mock today's events and that both containers will be found to be harmless. But we should not jump the gun nor provide misleading information on the plot merely because we can't wait long enough for the facts to come in. Spreading disinformation as fact does not benefit anybody.

Right now they are still investigating and no final details on what the substances in the containers were.

CNN did not say that the scare was over and that it was confirmed to be harmless. They simply stated an unconfirmed report that one of the containers was a gel like facial cleanser. They never stated they knew what was in the second and they said the woman is still being questioned. Taking that report to proclaim overjoyously that there was no explosive residue but it was only facial cleanser was misleading and misguided.
