Allen/McCain pep rally couldn't rally the "troops"

For some reason I can't copy and paste from this site. Anyway, the big Veterans for Allen pep rally yesterday was a bust....couldn't get the vets to attend....McCain made a joke about a monkey (?)...pep rally was supposed to divert attention from the macaca stir. They are both stupid and nobody loves them.

1. Unbridled Optimism
I wouldn't say that "nobody loves them." Allen is still leading the race, and it's an embarassment, wouldn't you say?

And McCain has plenty of supporters, and his phony ass would be a leading candidate for '08.

Were there a large enough percentage of intelligent people in this country, I'd feel ok. Since at least 25-40% will ALWAYS FOLLOW the repubs, even over a cliff, I won't feel secure until the Dems have Actually taken back control of something.

(snip)
The evening was billed as a "veterans for Allen" rally, but the hotel's conference room was less than half-filled, even after a phone push for a larger turnout. Veterans came from as far away as Colonial Heights, but their numbers were little greater than the reporters and camera people who were there.

As it was, the rally started 10 minutes late and finished more than 20 minute early, according to a campaign worker's schedule.
