6. done. Scummy wording of the "answers".
Instead of a simple "yes" or "no" as to whether it's unconstitutional, they have to push the "give up freedom to be safe" crapola. :puke:

11. As most polls this is stupid because the answer
"No, the practice is not unconstitutional. I am willing to sacrifice some civil liberties in the name of security."

is contradictory I'm willing to sacrifice some civil liberties in the name of security sounds alot like I'm willing to sacrifice some of my CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS in the name of security...so how could it be UNCONSTITUTIONAL

btw - I voted in their stupid poll -

14. I don't like the wording under "No"
It says "No, the practice is not unconstitutional...."

Um...yes it is. A Federal Judge just ruled that it WAS UNCONSTITUTIONAL. So that should not be part of the "No" answer. That's not debatable. What it should say is:
"No. Even though it IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL, ...."

btw - I voted. But it just pisses me off, these little twists of words.

Yes, warrantless wiretapping is an invasion of my privacy.

No, the practice is not unconstitutional. I am willing to sacrifice some civil liberties in the name of security.

Warrantless wiretapping is ILLEGAL precisely because it DOES violate the Constitution--it has nothing to do with whether or not you "mind" having your privacy invaded as a result. THERE'S NO REASON TO SPY DOMESTICALLY WITHOUT A WARRANT!

Anyway, props to the judge, and CUE THE VONAGE THEME!

72. Not voted 'cos I is a Brit but
Did you notice the way the question was worded?

Ok the lead question is clear "Do you agree with the judge's ruling that the government's warrantless wiretapping program is unconstitutional?"

Then "Yes, warrantless wiretapping is an invasion of my privacy." notice that it moves from the general to the personal. there will be a fair number of people with no knowlege of the law who will say "we-l-l it doesn't invade my privacy"

or "No, the practice is not unconstitutional. I am willing to sacrifice some civil liberties in the name of security." you are given 2 reasons to click this button a) "The practise is not unconstitutional" and b) "I am willing to sacrifice some civil liberties in the name of security"

in other words MSBC has loaded the dice. Just be thankful that 60% + have voted with "Yes, warrantless wiretapping is an invasion of my privacy."
