I'm a fiscal neanderthal. My check went in the mail yesterday. DU will survive and bush will get punched. But thanks for the pep talk. Keep those dollars coming. The call for a donation came at a good time. I was also solicited via mail by the DNC (again), I think my contribution to DU is probably better for electing Dem Candidates then sending money to the DNC.

I've given more money to political causes in the past 12 months then I have in the past 30 years.

Like a lot of people who were raised Catholic and left the church, I used to refer to myself jokingly as a "recovering Catholic." Then one day, I mentioned something or other about having a beer the night before and was asked "isn't that awfully risky for someone in your situation?" Turns out when I said I was a recovering Catholic, they thought I was a religious person with a substance abuse problem.
