NY1 VP jabs at Tasini, decides that elections should be run by money
This is just awful:

"There are 5.5 million registered Democrats in New York," Paulus said. "All Tasini would need is for each one to send him a dollar."

Yes, he has to collect enormous sums of money by having all the voters send him money within less than a month just to get into the debates. NY1 is terrible.

1. A lot would send him the money if they knew he existed.

The political coverage in the local newspapers Upstate is pathetic. Don't even get me started on what Action News does.

Here's a bright thought: what if Jon Stewart had him on some night? I got a charge out of seeing Samuel Jackson the other day, but I'd rather see Tasini. Jon could have Hilary on the next night.

2. Daily Show and Colbert are great but still suffer from the same
ills of all the corporate-run media: they cater to the wealthy and popular. Tasini may've done great work in his life, but he's less visible than Ralph Nader because he just doesn't have enough cash.

I could imagine that if progressives across the nation started advertising and supporting Tasini that maybe he may still be too late to win, but he would have enough charge in the voters to take a huge chunk of Hilary's votes away, which would send a clear message to her and the establishment Democrats.

3. He's had 9 months and he's raised $102,000 ($30K from himself)

He got 40,000 signatures.

That's roughly $2.50 a person that thought enough of him to be a candidate.

On edit: This story is the best thing to happen to Tasini. It was likely that Hillary would simnply not debate him but NY1 has handed him an untintentional gift. He;s gotten more MSM play in the last week than the 9 previous months combined.
