Why is it that...
Edited on Thu Aug-17-06 11:49 AM by Texas Explorer
they're talking about the death of a little girl, bless her, that died 10 years ago when the President of the United States was just found by a court dominated by his own party to be guilty of crimes against the Constitution of the United States of America.

Don't get me wrong, I feel for the death of that child as I would any child, and I feel for her parents who are, to this day, STILL suspects in the death of their daughter, despite breaking developments. CNN just did a timeline of the Ramsey case and 2 of the 3 points in their graphic was John and Patsy's perceived lack of cooperation at times with the fucking bozos charged with finding JB's killer. We know now that they were innocent.

OMG! OMG! Greg (somebody or other), the anchor on Faux, just said, "Is this a lunatic just confessing out of some crazy notion, or are the parents really responsible for Jon Benet's death?"

FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!

THIS MEDIA BULLSHIT IS DRIVING ME STARK RAVING MAD!

Back to my OP...fuck.

Anyway, as I was saying, the illegal wiretapping of Americans by this administration is on a level EXPONENTIALLY worse than that that brought down Nixon and yet they're still talking about one of out thousands of murders that happen all the time.

Again, I say, FUCK!

2. 40 minutes on an Fox News hour show yesterday
http://www.newshounds.us/2006/08/17/john_karr_gets_15_minutes_of_fame_and_then_some_on_big_story.php#more

In total the show featured 7 FOX News Alerts!, 2 for the "suspicious containers" at Port Seattle and 1 for the flight diverted to Logan airport. The entire time devoted to the Ramsey case (40 minutes, no kidding), whether the images were of the Ramsey home, the parents, Jon Benet, or the analysts on the case ((Carol McKinley, Greta Van Susteren, Judge Andrew Napolitiano, and Lis Weihl), the top banner on the chyron was a red FOX NEWS ALERT.

6. may I remind you that an arrested suspect and a convicted murderer are
NOT the same thing? it's fascinating to me that so many DU'ers are talking as though the man has been tried and convicted already, doing essentially the same thing that happened to the ramseys.

and you KNOW why the coverage, of course--you answered it in your first sentence.

9. You are absolutely
correct. I stand corrected. The man hasn't been convicted.

My point, however, stands. The media ran Nixon through a meat grinder. I watched every day from day one. Every last newspaper and network reporter was tearing Nixon the his administration to shreds, like piranha on a capibara.

It's fucking ridiculous.

7. you have to put it into perspective
more of "us" know the winners of American Idol than know who Tony Blair is. Shamefully, sadly, this is AMERIKA. la la la la la.
the tragedy of the child's death is less interesting than the particulars of the sexual assault. they are drooling for the details.
I'm thinkin it's truly best to walk away from the TV

FUCK!

10. Ohhh...
I've been out of my mind around here all morning trying to get my clueless family to "get it". But you better bet goddamn sure they know who the winner of American Idol as well as who is the latest wrestling champion.

18. But that little girl's death ten years ago is important, ...
unlike the deaths of tens of thousands in Iraq and Lebanon more recently.

Get ready: we're going to see many, many more diversionary stories (excuse me, stories that provide diversion) in the remaining months before the elections.
