Withdrawing from Iraq will embolden the terrorists
But "staying the course", no matter how pointless and wrong the 'course' may be will weaken the willpower of the terrorists, right?

2. The Bush regime, backed by all of his republicans, 'cut and ran'
from Afghanistan and let bin-Laden and his accomplices get away. That's why our nation is still at risk; not from 'terrorists' in Iraq, but from an al-Qaeda organization and network which was emboldened by bin-Laden's escape, and is further encouraged to act against the US, our allies, and our interests by Bush's failure to catch them 5 years after he promised to apprehend them, "dead or alive."

3. I think they are flailing around for a withdrawal with honor
if they can get one. But it's a hard needle to thread. They don't want to leave because the American people are fed up with this war; that would but an end to the Bush Doctrine of invading when wwe think we can get away with it. They certainly don't want to leave because Democrats have the say so. Rather if and when they leave they want to be able to spin it as a victory - we are leaving because we've done all the work there is to do in this country.

Like i say, a hard needle to thread.

4. This will undoubtedly be their strategy, but it won't work...
all the spinning in the world will not spin iraq into the "win" category for Americans or the rethugs in this administration. People will see it for exactly what it is. And if we continue to lose life daily and more frequently, the public outrage over this insanity will just thicken and they will believe nothing from * about iraq.
