Wonkette Goes Nuclear - Destroys George (family violence) Allen -
Edited on Thu Aug-17-06 10:15 AM by autorank
She's brutal, no mercy...several pieces, each better than the last...

http://www.wonkette.com/politics/george-allen/

"According to two Republicans who heard the word used, “macaca” was a mash-up of “Mohawk,” referring to Sidarth’s distinctive hair, and “caca,” Spanish slang for excrement, or “shit.”

Said one Republican close to the campaign: “In other words, he was a shit-head, an annoyance.” Allen, according to Republicans, heard members of his traveling entourage and Virginia Republicans use the phrase and picked it up."

Well, that’s underwhelming. Calling Sidarth a shithead is a lot less funny than calling him some made-up nonsense word that just happens to mean “stub-tailed Tunisian monkey.” We’re almost ready to rescind Allen’s “latter-day Lenny Bruce” monicker and just call him a garden-variety douchebag. Come on, Senator… at least say you meant to call him “Sugartits.”

1. That is one of the worst lies I have ever heard.
Edited on Thu Aug-17-06 10:21 AM by Virginia Dare
What George Allen said, and I quote was: "Welcome to America Macaca". Why would he use that phrase if it was not his intent to insult the man's racial background?

George Allen should come clean and apologize properly for his actions. He won't though because he is totally without honor. He has no shame. He is a racist and a liar PERIOD.....!!!!

3. Yeah, as I recall the 'Mohawks' were in America long before Felix
Allen's ancestors ever heard of the place! Welcome to America, Felix

4. Fake cowboy, fake Virginian, faux Senator...
He doesn't have to be born in Virginia, he just has to reflect at least a few of the values that the state exemplifies at its best: like being really smart and working 80 hours a week (Northern Virginia) or working to get back to the best of the founders values (the whole state). Instead, he's a fake, phony, racist, nitwit. He's a real mess and Wonkette thrashes him. Funny stuff.

He's probably a child molestor anyway. He's obviously a sick puppy.

6. The man is a racist...
period. And, though I am from Texas, Virginia is my family's (Mom's side) ancestral home and I've lived their intermittently for nearly half of my life.

I am ashamed of Allen. Blisteringly ashamed. I feel sorry for my fellow Virginians (yes, FELLOW!) and I sure wish I was there to give this racist bigot the boot, along with a history and morality lecture. If I didn't think that is vitally important that I vote in my district here in Texas, I'd pack my shit and get to Virginia now just to be there in time to vote against this idiot.

8. We could help by making even a small donation to Webb
Edited on Thu Aug-17-06 11:08 AM by LonelyLRLiberal
I'm thinking about making one to commemorate Allen's "coming out" as a racist.

On edit - here's the link to donate to Webb for Senate:

https://secure.webbforsenate.com/page/contribute/blog

I just made a donation - suggest everyone else do the same.

10. Nice rant T.E...
it will indeed be a pleasure to vote against this asshole once again. Hard to believe this state is infested with so many racists and kool-aid drinkers, but hopefully we will rise above.

7. I Lived In Three Spanish Speaking Countries
(Panama, Guatemala & Spain) for a total of six and a half years & never heard a single native speaker use the word "caca." We always said mierda. Where did this "caca" thing come from?

9. Just a guess... Cheech & Chong?
To me it doesn't really matter (as far as what Allen said) because he:

1) Didn't use a common personification (i.e., young man - fella - guy - dude) and chose to be an asshole
2) Doesn't care enough about himself to ensure he has high quality staff (if indeed they were the ones using "macaca")

friends do use caca, but it is more like "poo-poo" or "doo-doo" than "shit." Mierda is "shit."

11. Okay, he was known in high school (back in CA) for wearing the
"Confederate Flag" a lot ... so you've got to know that there probably are pics of him in the old yearbooks ... and bound to be one or more with the flag on his person ...

Of course, he'll probably use the tired line "misspent youth", like the one Republican who claimed he fathered a child in his "misspent youth" (actually, he was older at that time than Bill Clinton was when he was impeached for a BJ) ...

But I would ask each Repuke who defends his wearing of the flag this:

"If you're the 'party of Lincoln', why do you wear the symbol of the people who fought a war against the 'party of Lincoln'? How can you wear the symbol of racism and say that you're against it?"

12. Heritage, not hate....
:sarcasm: :sarcasm:

That's the standard line you hear around here. In my opinion, the only appropriate places for the Confederate flag (and I am a descendant of Virginia Confederates) is in a) museums and other civil war sites b) gravesites of Confederate soldiers

Everyone knows that the sporting of Confederate Battle Flag regalia is codespeak for racism, whether they will admit it or not.

18. I'm sure for some it is a heritage thing. However, I hope every
Virginian knows, or will learn, that for Allen it has nothing to do with heritage. He has no Confederate heritage - just a lifelong commitment to racism. Hell, he named his son for Gen. Nathan Forrest - slave owner and Confederate General who committed atrocities against black union troops and was an early Grand Wizard of the KKK. If that's not sick, I don't know what is.

17. Allen is wearing a Confederate flag pin in his
high school graduation photo - Palos Verdes High in Southern California, June 1970 - more than a year before he moved to Virginia after completing his freshman year at UCLA.

22. Here's how weird that is (Confederate flag in HS). He was in California!
At that time, in Southern California, if you had a Confederate Flag or were enamored with that ethos, you were considered a complete turkey. Nothing against my Southern friends here, but Southern California has no connection to the old South. This is telling. He had few if any friends, it's easy to assume, and liked it that way.

Webb is the man!

23. At PV High Allen hung out with a kid from
Texas named Deke. Deke also wore a Confederate flag pin in his graduation photo.

I was in the graduating class and know that Allen's girlfriend was one of the cheerleaders and the prom queen - so he was far from an outsider. He was also QB of the varsity football team. Everybody knew he was a racist, but it was an all-white school in a heavily repuke wealthy suburb, so it was never considered a big deal. Even when he spraypainted racist graffiti on the school walls and got into trouble with the administration, the kids for the most part just considered it a prank. Everybody knew right away Allen was involved, though, because it was racist.

26. That's amazing.
I was in central CA and that shit just didn't fly. Of course my HS was integrated but I can't think of a person at my school or any of the others where I knew people who thought that those displays were anything other than strange. Go figure.
