Will anyone apologize to John Ramsey?

I mean among the countless hordes of talk radio chowderheads who routinely convicted the Ramseys in the death of their daughter. I was listening to one this morning (I don't usually listen to him, but wanted to see if he'd apologize, after endlessly blathering about how the Ramseys should be executed for their hideous crime, blah, blah, blah). Sure enough, of course the Ramseys put their little girl in that beauty pageant, and that's the reason she got killed. Anything but apologize. Sigh.

At the risk of coming across smug, I never saw any convincing reason to see the Ramseys as guilty, even at the height of the media hysteria. Don't know if that's a minority viewpoint or not...

1. Will anybody apologize to Gary Condit?
I don't think either of them will get an apology. The media is quick to insinuate and spread rumors, but doesn't like to admit it's wrong.

2. As Bill Maher said at the time
in his "politically incorrect" program:

They were criminal in the way they manipulated that little girl.

No, there is no excuse for what that animal did, but even know, when they show the file photo, one cannot escape the hidden sexuality that the parents were trying to emphasize at that little girl.

3. Are we sure that Karr is the guy who actually killed Jon Benet?

7. According to reports, he had information of the crime...
that wasn't public knowledge. So, the chances of him being a random lunatic are pretty small to say the least.

10. On the other hand, an article said that Karr
had been corresponding with a UColorado journalism professor who had written a book on the JonBenet murder case. It's possible that the professor may have inadvertantly fed some info to Karr during their correspondence.

(Disclaimer: I'm not one of the "John and Patsy did it!" crowd, but I still don't see how someone who allegedly was in Alabama during the time of the murder could have been the murderer.)

14. this guy's story doesn't really add up neither
why would his x-wife chime in with an alibi? How could he bring her home from school without someone asking questions. And how could he take her into the house and be alone with her for so long? Why take her home in the first place? And how could a little girl do something that a grown man couldn't control? If he loved her, why beat her? It just doesn't add up right now anyway?

12. That doesn't mean.
... he was the sole actor either.

Sorry, his "confession" is full of weasel-words. I'm not remotely convinced he was Ramsey's lone killer.

20. Without a DNA match or hard evidence that he was in Boulder at
the time of the murder, you will have a tough time convincing me he's anything other than a crazy false confessor and obsessed "fan" of the case.

4. No
Does anyone apologize to those incarcerated for so many years
only to find out they are innocent?

Some innocent people spend 10, 20 or even more years in prison.

Noone ever apologizes :-(

8. And they're never "bitter"...
If I was incarcerated for years for something I didn't do, I'd be ready to rip someone a new one.

That flips me out.

Their lives have been destroyed.
I just break down every time I hear about this.

13. Guy In Chicago Was Released Just Last Year
He was in jail for 27 years for a crime he DID NOT COMMIT. The evidence of innocence was overwhelming. The governor immediately issued a pardon based upon proof of innocence.

The "apology" was $160,000. For 27 years in jail for crime he didn't commit. That's less than $6,000 per year!

He recently lost a lawsuit charging that the police framed him. Not much of an apology is it?

19. I wish that
there could be some kind of law to REALLY help these poor people.

Of course, NOTHING could ever give back to them that which had been lost.

It's so terribly sad.

21. Yeah, I Agree
But, giving them a few million (say $100 grand per year of illegitimate incarceration) would give him a chance at recovering the life he's got left.

9. Nope. The media pretends like some other "media"
persecuted Patsy Ramsey to her grave. They never admit they were wrong.

The irresponsibility of media enitities slowed down the arrest of the DC snipers ("white van"), destroyed Gary Condit and destroyed Patsy Ramsey.

11. The media never apologizes and they are still up to their....
dirty tricks. I'm with you, I never thought the Ramsey's were guilty and thought it was ridiculous after the first investigation that anyone would think that.

18. This guy hasn't been convicted yet, you know.
I'm not saying the media circus surrounding this case wasn't repulsive, but, the fact is that we STILL don't know who killed Jon-Benet Ramsey.

There is a lot of weirdness surrounding this fella's confession, for one thing. Like the fact that his ex-wife says she was with him in Alabama at the time.

So - we don't know if John Ramsey should or should not be apologized to in the first place.

22. There certainly was a trial-by-media...
...and it looks like those who believed a family member may have done it, were wrong. HOWEVER: before we wring our hands at how awful it must have been for parents who had lost a child in this way, to then be under suspicion, we should remember that the case was confused by the fake ransom note. It muddied the waters considerably; and once recognized as fake, it had to cast suspicion on them.

In other words, had the Ramseys been more willing to look for the TRUTH in the first place, they would not have come under suspicion, at least not in the way they did -- and the real killer* may have been found sooner. I'll save my tears for JonBenet, not for parents that saw fit to mislead police during the investigation into her murder.

(*Yes, I am assuming that Mr. Karr is the real killer.)

23. I already did. While I saw many convincing reasons to see them
as guilty, or at least more knowledgeable than they claimed, I now regret thinking that way.
