Kidman condemns Hamas, Hezbollah

Just thought this was somewhat amusing, so please don't attack me for the sentiments expressed by the Hollywood crowd.


"The actress, joined by 84 other high-profile Hollywood stars, directors, studio bosses and media moguls, has taken out a powerfully-worded full page advertisement in today's Los Angeles Times newspaper.

It specifically targets "terrorist organisations" such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Palestine.

"We the undersigned are pained and devastated by the civilian casualties in Israel and Lebanon caused by terrorist actions initiated by terrorist organisations such as Hezbollah and Hamas," the ad reads.

"If we do not succeed in stopping terrorism around the world, chaos will rule and innocent people will continue to die."

I do admire people who can take a stand on difficult issues. I hope that next they'll be brave enough to speak out against murder, eating babies, and kicking sweet little grey-haired old ladies in the teeth.

Dear Sirs:
I was distressed to see that the Hollywood celebrity-signed letter condemning terrorist organizations neglected to mention either the State of Israel or the United States.

More innocents have been killed in Mr. Bush's colonial adventure in Iraq -- enthusiastically formulated, sponsored and/or applauded by Israel and its US government proxies like Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz, etc. -- over the last three plus years than have been killed by (the currently democratically elected) Hamas and Hezbollah in their entire histories. It's also helpful to remember that Israel was instrumental in the creation of Hezbollah as a counter-balance to the Fatah PLO faction.

When writing of terror, the names Sabra, Chatila, Guantánamo, Abu Ghraib, Haditha, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, My Lai, etc., should not be forgotten.
