2. The trial isn't until January
It's not too surprising that things are quiet at the moment.

3. that bridge is out.
nothing will come of that, before the elections. And after, he's only after Libby for lying.

I"m disappointed in the claims of "fitzmas", but after all, I shouldn't be. To pin hopes on one moral man against an immoral govt. is not enough. It takes a country to fight a dictator.

5. well put, succinct point,
thanks. That's probably something we should have learned from history, like so many other things.

8. There is no cause
for disappointment. The Libby case is moving forward.

More, the Wilson case against Cheney, Rove, and Libby is worth keeping track of. There are recent events in the case that are very interesting.

Things are good as far as the criminal case against Libby, and the civil case against Cheney, Rove and Libby goes.

9. I respect your input, H20man, however, there is no cause for
encouragement that I can see. Unless you know something I don't?
There's nothing tangible I'm aware of that leads me to believe anything will happen to libby beyond perjury.
The Wilson case is civil.
My point is the overwhelming victory that "fitzmas" was touted to be is not going to happen. At best, we'll have Libby spend some soft jail time, he'll clam up and reveal nothing at trial.
The Wilson case will be sealed for reasons of national security, so even if they do get a good outcome, the truth will never out.

4. CIA gives Libby overviews of daily security briefings
(Washington-AP) August 10, 2006 - The CIA says it's provided short summaries of Vice President Cheney's daily security briefings to attorneys for Cheney's former chief of staff.

Lewis Libby is facing trial, accused of lying about he'd learned the identity of CIA officer Valerie Plame, and what he told reporters about her.

Libby's discussions with reporters came shortly after Plame's husband, former US Ambassador Joseph Wilson, accused the Bush administration of twisting prewar intelligence to exaggerate the Iraqi threat.

The documents were provided in response to a March court order. They summarize a wide range of national security issues.

Does anyone know if these documents have been posted on line or are they under seal?

7. Really should make that a federal holiday
Fitzmas dinner, songs, presents, the whole thing. Over time it would eventually turn into a trust-your-government type of day though, and lose all meaning.
