Dems seize on Colo. candidate's "bestiality" quip
Democrats pounced Tuesday on Colorado's Republican gubernatorial candidate, Bob Beauprez, and his newly chosen running mate, Janet Rowland, for comments she made five months ago comparing same-sex marriage to bestiality.

In a March 17 broadcast of the Rocky Mountain PBS program "Colorado State of Mind," Rowland said homosexuality is an alternative lifestyle, adding, "For some people, the alternative lifestyle is bestiality. Do we allow a man to marry a sheep?"

Democrat Bill Ritter's campaign called the remarks "insensitive, close-minded, derogatory, and crude" and demanded an apology. "This shows just how far to the right and out-of-touch the Beauprez-Rowland ticket really is," Ritter campaign manager Greg Kolomitz said.

Beauprez campaign manager John Marshall said Rowland regretted the remark and has apologized. "We all say things we don't mean sometimes," he said. "That's what happened."

1. How dumb is Beauprez?
Did he know about this remark?. . .Or does he think it will play well?

4. WTF is up with the word "quip" lately???
The Washington Post used it yesterday to describe Allen's racist remarks... now this? A quip is something clever or witty.

9. And what's this "Lifestyle" nonsense?

Everytime one of these liars uses "lifestyle" in regards to homosexuality they should be called on it. It's a misuse of the word.

"Tell me Senator, how long have you been living a heterosexual lifestyle?"

According to every gay person I know and almost every psychological and physiological study, homosexuality is NOT a choice.

14. Beauprez' spokesman made a valiant defense of his boss
stating that we're all "pampered, bed-wetting liberals", who nobody cares about because we have no credibility.

http://www.coloradopols.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=1601

If you can spare it, please show this jerk that people do care about this homophobic bigotry by donating to Bill Ritter's campaign. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Bob Beauprez must not become the governor of this state. That would be a train wreck not just for Colorado, but for the entire western region. Fortunately it looks like Ritter has all the momentum (not to mention all the leads in polls) but if you can help us beat Both-Ways-Bob we'd really appreciate it.

It is proven time after time. Shamed, closeted gays in the Republican party attacking gays. "Family values" exponents who are secretly raping their daughters and sons. That's the modus operandi of the Republican lifetstyle.

The only thing homosexuality and beastialty have in common, I'd venture, is that they are both subjects of Republican sexual fantasies.

44. Of course she meant it.
If she didn't mean it, why did she say it in the first place?

That apology is pure bullshit. The Democrats correctly called out this bigoted hatemongering woman and she was pressured into some lame ass apology.

When one uses crap comparing gay people to animals (such as the Republican candidate for Governor of Ohio has done) and uses the word "lifestyle" to describe our lives, such bigotry is ingrained and deep-seated.
