1. Who decides what's going to be the headlines
remember the Runaway Bride just at the time of the Downing street Memo leak? Must be something afoot?

3. depends on the day and the events
if there is a politican, news outlet, or prominent public figure criticizing the president, then yes, we are at war.

If that same president is on one of his many vacations, then no, we are not.

If we need to justify obscene tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans at the expense of domestic services and any hope of a surplus, then we are not at war.

But when it comes time to find blame for the deficits, then yes, we are at war.

4. Oh no, we aren't.
We left right about when Lebanon started being bombed.
We must have left or they'd be reporting all the deaths in Iraq.

It so rarely comes up. I watched "This Week" one Sunday and in the "In Remembrance" part there were 22 military that had died in Iraq that week. I was caught by surprise because I'd heard NOTHING about Iraq all week...that is a lot of death.
God knows how many civilians that week and every week.

Still, Benet news is bigger news than an overblown terror plot going on and on. It should be BIG news if they find that another person did it because it sure was big news when we thought the family did.

But I keep wondering...where did Iraq go? It isn't newsworthy anymore?

6. i just saw a chilling report about Iraq on CNN, i swear, i'm not kidding
it was pretty awful, the reporter said the last month the morgues there had over 1800 bodies, he said it was from sectarian violence--and that was an increase over the previous months by 50%.

7. Just a distraction from Natalee Holloway
Too bad the news media doesn't have the balls to keep their attention where it belongs - Aruba.
