12. I realize polls aren't the end all be all but
She can't win when 45% of voters are already commited to voting against her. I think she would lose to any Republican candidate except maybe Jeb Bush. That's my opinion though, and I would still vote for her regardless.

13. In her NY Sen race, they said polls showed that 48% would vote for
anyone but her. She won 55 or 56%. So she got everyone who didn't hate her, plus a few of the haters.

14. She will run, but she will lose the primaries
She is too divisive a figure, not just in the nation as a whole but even within the Democratic Party. There is no way a candidate who divides her own party so much can win the primaries.

23. It is not just DU
I don't think you realize just how many people dislike Hillary Clinton. If you look at virtually any of the progressive blogs outside of DU they all dislike Hillary just as much. A person who has such low support in the blogosphere will never be able to win a primary, just look what the bloggers did to Lieberman.

Aside from that Hillary's position on the war is not very popular among Democrats to say the least, and because we know Bush does not plan on ending the war before 2008 we also know the war will be a huge issue in the next election. She will not win, I would be willing to bet on it.

30. As well, we shouldn't ignore the pink elephant in the room
She is a woman. Even if she weren't a woman that is divisive, she still has the wrong appendage. We will have a black president before a female president, I predict. And before someone snipes at me because of my icon, I am a woman so I'm entitled to say this very obvious point - America is still too narrow minded to accept a female president.

8. I don't think she will either....
I have said that for over a year but people say I'm crazy. Well, if she does run and win the nomination we can look forward to four more years of Republican "leadership" in the White House.

9. She's running
How do I know? Because Pete Daou, formerly of Salon's Daou Report, quit Salon several weeks ago to go and work for her.

He wouldn't do that if she wasn't running.

16. Well, women can be fickle.
But not Hillary.

She may be full speed ahead right now, but I think she'll pay attention to the tea leaves more than any other candidate in global election history. If things aren't lining up just right, she won't blow her future chances by having a failed candidacy in 2008.

20. there are no future chances
2008 is now or never for Hillary. It's an open election with no incumbent. VERY RARE.

She'll be too old in 2012 and if a dem wins in 2008 she'll have to wait till 2016 and will be way too old by then.

21. She will run, but she won't get the nomination
I'm trying to think of the last time that the person called the "front runner" won the Democratic nomination for President (obviously 1980 and 1996 excluded). Somebody always gets called the front runner, always does OK in Iowa and New Hampshire, and then always tanks on Super Tuesday.

27. Gore was definately considered the front runner in 2000
That being said, I too think Hillary will lose the primaries. She is just too divisive, and her position on the war is not going to go over well with the voters. It is too early to make a clear prediction yet but I think right now it will either be Gore, Feingold, Clark or Edwards. Who knows though, someone else could step in later. There is a chance that a virtual unknown could wind up winning the nomination, it has happened before.
