Clinton warns GOP not to link London bomb plot and war in Iraq

Bill Burns Bush

Sez no London link to Iraq

BY MICHAEL McAULIFF
DAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU

President Bush (below) and former President Bill Clinton (above) spoke about terror war yesterday.

WASHINGTON - Former President Bill Clinton got in the current President's face yesterday, slamming the Bush administration for linking the London bomb plot and the war on terror to the war in Iraq.
"The Republicans should be very careful in trying to play politics with this London airport thing, because they're going to have a hard time with the facts," Clinton said in an interview.

"I don't think the foiling of that London bomb plot has any bearing on our Iraq policy," he said.

Clinton's broadside, delivered on ABC's "Good Morning America," came as President Bush spent his second day in the wake of the defused British terror plot holding high-profile national security meetings.

--snip--

I think we haven't really yet seen the full implications and backlash from this alleged plot, not to mention heard the truth about it. I think this is going to burn Chimpy and the GOP but good. I'll be interested in the next round of polls.

As luck would have it, they were giving the paper away today in my local supermarket, otherwise I wouldn't have known about this. Didn't see it posted yet on DU either, (the Daily News pic and story, not the Clinton comments, which I have seen), surprisingly, though it's certainly possible I missed it.

1. I miss that smart foolish man
I just love to hear what Big Dawg has to say.

And the foiling did come from Britain, and not Mr. Pissypants.

2. Dam, looking like Ted Kennedy there. I hope Bill has realized how
the GOP will play the 'terrorist card' and will now counter it. He needs to make sure Dems win a majority later in the year. Kick their asses Bill!

4. Yeah, I like the finger!
Colbert's 'wag of the finger' comes to mind. At first glance, I thought it was Ted. Looks very pissed off. Something I haven't seen in a while.

7. You Know What I Just Realized About The Finger?
When he was in office and an active politician, he never used the finger. He always used that sort of thing with the thumb pointing out, which is less "in your face". Some politicians do that purposely so they're not seen as pointing at you, lecturing, which could be perceived negatively.

He's using the finger now that he's not actively in politics.

Just an observation and it could be just this one pic for all I know where he slipped up, but, anyway.
