2. I hope this is the break BDP needs.
I worked for Access Graphics at the time of the murder and for a couple of years after and I still live in the area. It was terrible crime and a media circus. I hope that the still living Ramseys get some peace out of this.

And no, I don't think this is distraction. Murder cases get breaks sometimes and that's what this looks like.

3. Agreed
Wasn't there a new DA recently who said he was going to be re-examining all of the evidence? I thought I heard something like that this year.

9. She. Mary (Keenan) Lacy. (She just got married.)
She's been really tenacious, and her background is in children and women's sexual abuse and crime. She's been great. (She's also a wonderful Democrat, but that's another matter entirely.)

4. On one hand it is good they got the suspect
on the other hand America will subjected to months of National Enquirer-esque tabloid journalism on the Cable News channels while real subjects are ignored. Oh well there is always the BBC America.

10. If it wasn't this, it would be some other blonde girl.
WMD lies and oil cartels don't sell ad space. Sensationalism does. (We learned this back in the late 19th century, but do we remember? No....)

If the media really reported the news, they'd be out of a job because no one would pay attention.

19. I don't know
There is something weird here. It took ten years and it happened shortly after her death. Maybe they found something in her personal belongings that pointed them in that direction.

He was arrested in Thailand and is being brought back to the US. But reports are that the suspect has confessed to the crime.

13. Our news said he knew of details that where not published and
the DNA was a match. I think they got the right guy. Remember, they did have DNA that they couldn't match. I am happy that the b'tard is going to be locked up.

15. Hint to murderers: kill strangers. Police only suspect family members.
If you want to elude capture kill someone with whom you have little or no tie and the police will try to pin it on a family member or close friend. This is always the way they work.

17. This doesn't feel like a distraction to me either
other than a distraction to terra, terra, terra. By god, we need a terra channel, a real terra channel....

Am so glad this looks like a possibility to put this crime and its victim to rest.
