FBI Agent who captured Moussaoui says 9/11 could have been prevented
Harry Samit is a Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent based out of the FBI Field Office in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a former United States Navy naval aviator, Naval Intelligence Officer, and a certified private pilot. He is most noted for arresting Zacarias Moussaoui on August 16, 2001.

In March 2006, during Moussaoui's death sentence trial, Samit testified that he had spent the time between August 16 and September 11 trying to warn U.S. officials about the possibility of terrorist actions involving the hijacking of aircraft. Four such actions occurred in the United States on September 11, 2001. Samit testified under oath that "criminal negligence, obstruction and careerism" by superiors at FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC thwarted an opportunity to prevent the September 11th attacks.

35. Freeh decided to politicize the FBI and we get 9-11
Freeh tried so hard to bring down Clinton that he neglected his job. Politics was more important to him than America just as it is with all Republicans...

Btw, I finally saw V for Vendetta. It reminded me so much of what is happening now. One phrase I liked, "There are no coincidences, only the illusion of coincidences". That MUST have been a reference to 9-11!

32. The difference is between passivity and activity.
LIHOP is passive; they just Let It Happen.

MIHOP is active; they Made It Happen.

LIHOP is for people who can't believe their government is capable of doing something so heinous and lying about it so coldly.

MIHOP is for people who have no trouble believing.

Seriously. No :tinfoilhat: here.

It's not that they didn't KNOW how to get bottled water to NOLA,

THEY DIDN'T WANT TO.

Remember, it's how they "solved the public housing problem in New Orleans.

Katrina response was DEFINITELY a MIHOP.

21. I didn't realize that
what about the lawyer who emailed evidence to witnesses, I always wondered if that was intentional.
Come to think of it many of the 911 people were promoted , too, and ya gotta wonder;why? the few who tried to do their jobs or get to the truth were demoted or fired(FBI Robert Wright, UL whistle blower Kevin Ryan).

24. It's seems like most everybody who "failed" on 9/11 was rewarded.

Statement of September 11th Advocates Regarding Rewarding Abysmal Failure

There has been an untenable pattern in this administration where abysmal failure gets rewarded and accountability is not found. For example:

...

3. FBI agents Michael Maltbie and David Frasca were promoted within the ranks of the FBI:

Moussaoui’s arresting officer, FBI agent Harry Samit, tried some 70 times to get a FISA warrant to search Moussaoui's belongings before the 9/11 attacks. Samit testified during the Moussaoui penalty phase that he was thwarted by two agents at FBI HQ: Michael Maltbie, and David Frasca. These men scrubbed clean Samit’s FISA requests of any references to terrorist ties that Moussaoui might have had, and then refused to allow the FISA requests to even be made.

The US Government has asserted that had they been able to search Moussaoui's belongings, the 9/11 plot could have been prevented. Maltbie and Frasca were both promoted within the ranks of the FBI, where they are still employed today.

...

6. General Michael Hayden is now being appointed to Director of the CIA:

On September 10, 2001, two intercepts were received by the NSA: "tomorrow is zero hour" and "the match begins tomorrow."

According to the official record, these intercepts were not translated until September 12, 2001. In the summer of threat, the NSA apparently had a shortage of translators. General Michael Hayden was head of the NSA in September of 2001. Moreover, Hayden is the architect of the president's illegal wiretapping program. The congressional intelligence committees were not briefed about this program, as is required by law. General Michael Hayden is now being promoted to head the CIA.

#####

September 11th Advocates:

Kristen Breitweiser
Patty Casazza
Monica Gabrielle
Mindy Kleinberg
Lorie Van Auken
The pattern is compellingly clear. There is something rotten in D.C. and horrifically so.

29. "Historical..." I never did understand her choice of words. Every
time I heard her say it, a question mark would pop up in my mind. What does that mean, historical? "Bin Laden determined to strike in the U.S" is a prediction, not "historical." It just pisses me off that she can bandy about words that make absolutely no sense and aren't pertinent and no one questions her. On MTP recently, she refused to discusss "hypotheticals." Hypothetical exploration is what drives those news shows! But she, Ms. Condoscenda Rice, conveniently decides that she will not discuss anything hypothetical. Sorry for the rant...she just makes my blood boil.

20. I met the attorneys for Moussaoui recently...
I do death penalty work and they were at a conference I attended recently. Some of the things they spoke about were so interesting.

Some of the things I remember very clearly from the discussion was how Moussaoui asked for bail and said he should receive bail because he wanted to hijack a plane and crash it into the 4th Circuit. (Now we know this guy is definitely a mastermind in the 9/11 plot!)

And that the judge in the case refused to strike a juror who knew 25 ppl. killed at the Pentagon.

Also, an agent that testified at trial was asked if he had attempted to contact the White House about the 9/11 attacks and when he answered, yes, he was asked how many times. He said that he had e-mailed, called, and written starting 8/16/01 through 9/11/01 ...70 times!!!

I'm betting that this may be the same guy, but I haven't gone to the Wiki link yet and read up on him.

That just keeps coming back to me. The moment I read that in the PNAC, I knew something sinister was afoot.

I doubt very much the FBI would have sandbagged this man's efforts, if it were not from orders above. Cheney spent a lot of time over there. What was he saying?
