11. Ha! This song is carefully crafted...

Y'know? the song doesn;t really address any one issue. It's about the "neo-Christian" hypocrisy that Karl Rove plays to so well. Like, I understand the argument that abortion is ending innocent life and capital punishment is an eye-for-an-eye. (I don't agree with that premise on every level, intellectual, moral and spiritual, but I certainly understand someone feeling that way.) However, this song is about the people who shout the loudest about exactly that kind of contradiction call themselves right-wing "Christians".

I am NOT a religious man in any way. (I consider myself "spiritual with occasional lapses"!) But, I know that Jesu ben Josef (Jesus) would NEVER support the death penalty. John 8 : 7)

Nor is this song disparaging gun owners. Only those who think this is a "Christian" country. When Jesus ben Josef would never have owned a gun. The song doesn't argue any one issue either way.

The song is about blatant hypocrisy.

That's all.
