fine example of the American culture we seem to export too much of.

The sort of thing that leads people to the reasonable conclusion that we need a few embassies blown up.

I think some people miss the fact that 90 plus percent of the excitement about this movie is for the camp value. If it were meant to be serious, it wouldn't have a title like "Snakes on a Plane."

7. I read an article about the movie that said...

..."Snakes on a Plane" was just the working title and that they were going to give it some more 'Hollywood' name for the final release. A groundswell of public opinion after test screenings (led by Samuel L. himself) made them keep the name and play the camp value for all it was worth (including refilming some scenes to make them more intentionally funny).

While this movie may be silly...don't underestimate the power the entertainment industry/Hollywood has had over the years at promoting Western values & culture around the world. Granted, who is to say that Western values & culture are the best? But, on the whole, the industry has done more good than bad.
