But its the first bit of media coverage I saw on tv.
They showed the video clip and then Rob Corddry talked about how he is from Macaca.
And Jon asked if the guy had a name and what identified him as a Macaca etc :).
Good bit going on right now too.

They were pretty hard on Allen, showed the clip and everything. It would have been helpful if they'd reported his mother's heritage, but maybe someone will get that tomorrow.

5. I don't think they realized the significance of the word...

This was taped at 2:00 EST or so, and the bit probably written earlier than that... This morning when it was first making the rounds, no one was sure what "macaca" was... I don't think Jon and the writers would say what they knew was a racial slur over and over again, or make light of someone saying it...

Then again, Jon and the Daily show make fun of old women slipping on the ice*... ;)
