Question about who foots the bill for Cheney visit tomorrow.
Edited on Tue Aug-15-06 09:45 PM by niallmac
Dick Cheney comes to Boise tomorrow for a Republican fund raiser. No public access. $125. tickets
and $2,100 per couple photo ops. Idaho Peace Coalition organizing a low key street demo
on the parade motorcade route with people holding headstones representing every U.S. state and
territory each one showing the number of U.S. military fatalities in Iraq.

Question:
Who pays for Cheneys or any other similiar campaign trip?
Secret service and advance security is costly. Do we
pay for that or the RNC?

1. Pretty much the locals foot the bill
and some cities are not happy about it.

4. Some cities have refused
or tried to anyway. When it is a political event the RNC is supposed to pay but they usually wheedle their way out of that by including some speech or something that they say isn't for political reasons. And besides having the people pay for their propaganda when they speak they don't even allow real citizens in because they fear protestors speaking the truth, it's their handpicked donors and brainwashed little fundies that are allowed in.

5. So let me get this straight.
So far people are telling me that Cheney comes to Boise, I don't get to see him
and I am paying for it?
Hmmm. Not right.
Tax payers should be given some access to their elected
officials. If not, let the RNC pay the bill.
Some trips are disquised as business and that's a hard
call but this trip, this trip is an infomercial.
