Karl Rove and "THE GAY"
Edited on Tue Aug-15-06 08:34 PM by Cheney Killed Bambi
Whoah -- it looks like Bush's Brain author James Moore has quite the scoop regarding Karl Rove in his new book The Architect, to be released in a few weeks:

Rove is also upset about information in "The Architect" that explores his family history. Ordinarily, a political reporter will ignore a subject's background when writing about issues being promoted by a particular political operative. Their personal life is not relevant unless it contradicts a public posture on a relevant issue. Rove's zealous approach to promoting the anti-gay marriage amendment, however, prompted curiosity during the course of researching for the book. We will leave it to students of Freud to deconstruct what we discovered through on the record interviews, but it will be clear that Mr. Rove's motivations for promoting anti gay marriage legislation has as much to do with his own background as it does the political utility of motivating the conservative and fundamentalist base for the GOP.

Does anyone have any more information about this big scoop? It sounds potentially explosive. What will it be? Anybody on this board have "inside information" to share? ;-)

31. "liberal guilt" here

I've already commented on this matter, that I want to fight fire with fire, swiftboat the SOB, or whatever you call it. But, that means playing the Rovian game. Gulp.

Come to think of it, maybe 6 years of this fiasco/administration has eased the old liberal guilt.... so let's CRUSH THE BASTARD!

In other words, he is using his anti-gay equality to cover for his "secret" gay tendencies.

I am looking forward to captain hypocrite getting a first dose of the medicine he is going to be receiving for the rest of his life.

He thinks he's a hot shit now, but he has many years of a miserable life ahead where he will not be able to be in public without being attacked vociferously.

I personally would spit directly in his eye if I ever saw that RW pig.

11. CBS news tried to track Gannon's WH access to Rove

back in early 2005. There were other articles, too, about where they might have intersected (!) in the past. Searching....

Damn, here we are, thinking of how to exploit this. Too many Rovian years?

But does anybody know for sure if he is gay ?? I know people who personally know him and call him a member of Lavender Mafia. If true or not, I have no idea.

15. I know nothing about the big scoop.
I know Rove is married to a women named Darby

http://marriage.about.com/od/politics/p/karlrove.htm

And had been married before, and has a son. None of which means he isn't gay, but none of which implies, well, really anything. And so what? As far as his personal life goes. It's his public life that makes me cringe.

Regardless of his sexuality, I wish the big story was, "Hey, he's a win at all costs hypocritical Repuke dirty-tricks asshat. He likes to kick folks when they're up and keep kicking until they're asphalt. Regardless of the cost to the country, the Constitution, or the American people, Rove just wants to win." Finding something in his closet might underscore the hypocracy, but damn--just read his C.V. His deal is he doesn't care how low he goes, what he accuses people of, what smear he promulgates, and that shows the content of his character pretty clearly. Amzing more people aren't creeped out by that alone.

20. He's got a sweet, sweet memory of the first time he saw Dubya.
I asked Rove if he remembered his first impression of the Bushes. “The father was incredibly gentle,” he said. “Great character. Very thoughtful. Really generous in his openness and attitude. Clearly pained by Watergate as it unrolled.”

His first memory of George W. Bush was more precise. “It was the day before Thanksgiving, 1973,” Rove said. “Chairman Bush’s chief of staff called me and said, ‘I’ve got to be at a meeting on the Hill, the chairman’s got to be at a meeting at the White House, the other people in the office have already gone, and the eldest son’s going to be coming down from Harvard. He’s going to arrive at the train station, early afternoon. He’ll call over here when he gets to the train station. Meet him down in the lobby and give him the keys to the family car.’ I can literally remember what he was wearing: an Air National Guard flight jacket, cowboy boots, bluejeans, complete with the—in Texas you see it a lot—one of the back pockets will have a circle worn in the pocket from where you carry your tin of snuff, your tin of tobacco. He was exuding more charisma than any one individual should be allowed to have.”

21. It's probably similar to what Claude Humphreys found in "Tearoom Trade"
His study of of public restroom same sex...sex. Married protestant male homophobes love to fuck each other and turn around and oppress open gay and lesbian citizens. Okay...I admit, the Freud in me added the last bit. Yet...try and deny it.

23. I can't wait to read this book...
and I hope that with its publication, it opens Karl up to massive amounts of ridicule and shame.

Wasn't he the guy who never knew his father....his father abandoned his mother before he was born or soon thereafter....and it wasn't until his mother's death, when Karl was in his thirties, did he find out about his father.

Interesting, huh?

And no way Gannon got into the WH as much as he did without Karl giving an OK.

26. Loathing
seems to be a trend of the far-right whether it's for homosexuals or immimigrants or liberals.

Whenever I see someone who loathes someone else (beyond what is rational) I always think it's overcompensation for something that they can't accept inside themselves.
