My God, Americans are putting up with more & more shit.
Are we developing an appetite for it? I mean, how much more can we digest before we realize what it is we are eating?

We put up with treason, tyranny, torture, lies, invasions, spying, stealing, murdering, hoaxing, fake terror plots, fake wars, fake presidents, is there a limit to how much shit we will now accept as ice cream?

At what point to we say, "I'm tired of eating shit"?

3. As long as we continue to let the corporate pigs...
dictate our priorities to us, then this is what we'll get.

4. They thought they were free
http://www.thirdreich.net/Thought_They_Were_Free.html

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, little by little, to being governed by surprise; to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security. And their sense of identification with Hitler, their trust in him, made it easier to widen this gap and reassured those who would otherwise have worried about it.

"This separation of government from people, this widening of the gap, took place so gradually and so insensibly, each step disguised (perhaps not even intentionally) as a temporary emergency measure or associated with true patriotic allegiance or with real social purposes. And all the crises and reforms (real reforms, too) so occupied the people that they did not see the slow motion underneath, of the whole process of government growing remoter and remoter.

5. I say that we create two lines: one for those who piss their pants...
every time there is a terrorist threat, and one for the people who are not afraid of their own shadows. Let the idiots eat shit, but intelligent people should have a way to get around this.

There were 16,037 people murdered in 2001, where is the war on murder?
500,000 people die annually from cancer.
700,000 people die from heart disease.

You have a higher likelihood of falling over dead standing one of the lines at the airport because of the Big Mac you just bought, than you do dying in a terrorist attack.

7. Excellent points

The media has conditioned the American people to what we are supposed to be afraid of.

Can you imagine if everyday in the paper the headline "Another 2000 people died from heart disease yesterday" or "Another 1500 people died from Cancer yesterday", day after day. People would be screaming. But we usually get that kind of information in small little doses from within our own family or friends.

6. Ultimately
we reap what we sow.

Anyone out there suffered in the job market over the last 6 years?
Anyone out there invest in and reap the benefits from corporations that
took their jobs overseas?
Anyone out there look at the label or text of their purchases to see if
it was made in this country?

8. It's called "frog-boiling"
Fundamentalist Christian ministers frequently invoked it to warn against straying from doctrinal orthodoxy. Al Gore invoked it in An Inconvenient Truth to awaken us to the possibility that we can let so much slide by without protest.

10. Sometimes I think there's no end
It's like we've mede the decision already to not fight, so no matter what happens, we won't fight. Any other country would already have forcibly pulled the responsible people out of their bunkers and shot them.
