BUSH: “The USA Is Engaged In A War Against An Extremist Group of Folks"
“The United States Of America Is Engaged In A War Against An Extremist Group Of Folks”...

"The United States of America is engaged in a war against an extremist group of folks bound together by an ideology willing to use terror to achieve their objectives," Bush said after a closed-door morning meeting at the counterterrorism center with top national security officials and CIA Director Michael Hayden. The center, established last year, was created to analyze all intelligence dealing with terrorism collected by every U.S. agency.

In his remarks, Bush said it was "our solemn duty to protect the American people."

He said America was "safer than it has been, but it's not yet safe. The enemy has an advantage when attacking our homeland."

2. So, us "folks" are not really safe according to Chimpy?
:grr:

I hate it when he uses the word "folks." I hate it when he claims to be protecting the American people rather than the constitution like he swore to do.

we don't even have homefield advantage? that's just bizarre. 'folks' who are presumably not experts on american culture or geography have an advantage over our military, national guard, police and firemen, not to mention fbi, cia, nsa, etc. please, can we neuter this guy in november?

10. "Extremist group of....FOLKS????"
What in his twisted little mind does he mean by "folks?"

From www.dictionary.com:

folk
n. pl. folk or folks

1.
1. The common people of a society or region considered as the representatives of a traditional way of life and especially as the originators or carriers of the customs, beliefs, and arts that make up a distinctive culture: a leader who came from the folk.
2. Archaic. A nation; a people.
2. Informal. People in general. Often used in the plural: Folks around here are very friendly.
3. People of a specified group or kind. Often used in the plural: city folks; rich folk.
4. folks Informal.
1. The members of one's family or childhood household; one's relatives.
2. One's parents: My folks are coming for a visit.

Maybe he was meaning Definition 1.1 - "people of a specified group." But by using the word "folks" he dilutes the meaning, suggesting 1.4.1 or 1.4.2. In fact, it might well be that it IS his "folks" - his parents, especially his angry, abusive mother - that he has in mind.

15. "The enemy has an advantage when attacking our homeland."
Of course he does. He lives in the White House, is Commander in Chief of our Armed Forces, and has access to the entire Treasury of the United States of America and all the borrowing power afforded the same.

Tell me why you aren't after Osama bin Laden, you bastard! Tell me why we are playing war in Iraq, you son of a bitch! Tell me why our husbands, wives and children who trusted in you when they enlisted in the armed forces are dying you rotten scum bag!! Tell me why our treasury is empty, you swine! Tell me why!!

I've never hated another human being before in my entire life. I can say without hesitation that I hate George W. Bush because he is an evil, murderous, lying sack of shit!!!

Apologies to shit!!!
